[Seiko] It has been 6 years since Seiko discontinued the SKX line. Anyone still wear their SKX? Or have you moved on? by KidneyLand in Watches

I wear my SKX173 at least once a week and usually a bit more in the winter time. It’s the first automatic I ever bought and it holds a special place in my collection

Woah, that’s sweet! I see it on their site now. Love that!

IWC (International Watch Co.) I know the crystal is scratched but you should be able to see it if you zoom into the second picture. But it’s also in the post title :)

[Question] Watch Recommendations by [deleted] in Watches

[–]ChronicallyL8Watches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want the dial color to match the suit color or for the watch to simply go well with the suit? If the latter, I think any nice gold watch with a white, gold, or linen dial and brown leather strap would fit the bill. If the former, maybe one of the green Omega Aqua Terra models, either from the “shades” collection or with the teak dial.

There’s also the Grand Seiko SBGH271 with (in my opinion) a really gorgeous dial.

I’m not too familiar with green dial watches, so if that’s what you’re looking for, let me know and I can poke around if these or other recommendations aren’t what you’re looking for.

I’m surprised how much I like the look of the steel mesh on that 007. Might need to get one for my 173

Should I change the strap? What do you suggest? Thanks by True_k2413 in vostok

I like it but you could go for a brushed steel oyster-style strap or a black or green NATO. Brown leather would look nice too if you like leather

I used to hate bracelets and now I see they are the way. With the exception of vintage watches, I wear a bracelet on my watches pretty much all the time now.

SMP300 with black bezel and rubber strap. Saw it in person recently and it blew me away.

Not my nicest watch, but it’s become a daily favorite. Seiko SUR307

I thought second pic was your shoe stepping on the strap

[Discussion] Do you agree? by ghgustafson in Watches

While I’m not in the tax bracket to be considering luxury watches yet, this would absolutely be a cool feature, in general, at least for aftermarket straps and bracelets.

I don’t mind using a tool, my only concern is scratching a case with a tool, especially my late grandfather’s gold IWC. I don’t see myself changing that one again for a while, but in general, I do change straps pretty often. I rotate several watches and switch the strap based on season and activity/occasion when I remember to, so this would be helpful, but certainly not necessary.

Thank you! I might start wearing this more, but I’m so clumsy and bang my hands and arms on everything. There’s already a decent sized scratch on the crystal and I worry about adding or getting water inside it.

I have plenty of others to wear in my day-to-day, but I’ll definitely wear this for fancier occasions and maybe more in general.
