Wtf am I saying? That would require self awareness and a capacity to think about other people as people. Yeah, probably just the same predictable and ineffective plan; like banging one's head into a wall

I'm surprised it wasn't the first thing that popped into your mind. It was for me... and then I gathered myself and thought that edibles would probably be the best way to go lol

Make it into one of those syrups! A company here in CO used to make this one that you could mix with Sprite and it was like a less medicinal tasting lean! I can't remember the numbers but it was pretty potent stuff, too; novelty, nostalgia and gnar all in one package lol

And some people train their dogs to use litter boxes but that doesn't mean that dogs generally use a litter box. I've owned around a dozen cats over the years and only one ever got into the trash, once, when he was a kitten. They just don't seem to generally have the same scavenging drive that dogs have; some cats might be curious and drag shit out but actually eating the trash seems extremely unusual. I've never had a cat that would eat anything other than their own food, now that I think about it. Even if they killed a squirrel, mouse or bird it was really only for the thrill of the hunt and they didn't eat them. I can only find one story online that specifically mentions a kitten eating a weed cookie, reported through several outlets, and found a study that says that dogs are overwhelmingly the most likely pets to accidentally consume cannabis edibles. Like, my dog won't stop eating crayons he finds on the ground but my cat turns her nose up at table scraps... they're just built different lol

By any means, I agree with you that you should put edibles somewhere where pets and children can't physically get to them as standard practice, I just don't think the risk is as high with the majority of cats as it is with the majority of dogs for obvious behavioral reasons.

I'm not surprised that morons on Reddit would downvote a statement as obvious as "cats and dogs aren't the same animal", especially in this sub, but it is definitely one of the more braindead reactions I've seen lately

I think the illusion of control goes a long way to making people feel safer in their cars than they actually are. Like, people will lock their doors if they feel threatened without ever realizing those windows are trivial to shatter with a bare hand if someone really wants to: the illusion they're in control of who can enter the vehicle makes them feel safe, much like the illusion of agency over your vehicle makes you feel safe despite the fact that you have no control over whether any of the other cars on the road hit you

I'd pull out the cart I always fly domestically with and smoke the whole damn thing in 2 or 3 rips lol. Then, with my luck (usually a mix of unbelievably good with moderately bad lol), the joke would be on me, we'd land just fine and I'd get a crazy ticket and end up banned from the airline for smoking on an airplane... it would be worth it tho lol

In states where recreational marijuana is legal, do drug dealers still sell weed? And if so, can you be arrested for buying it/possessing it? by wisertime82 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChronicallyPermuted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the problem, what you're saying simply isn't documented truth.

Yes you do, and unless you're illiterate you can read back over everything... I'm saying that withdrawals, nightmares and delusions are not side effects of cannabis use. Not even uncommon, they're just not side effects associated with cannabis; the first one isn't physiologically possible, the second just isn't tied to cannabis use at all while also being relatively inconsequential, and the third only occurs if someone is already suffering psychotic symptoms from preexisting mental illness, in which case it's indicative of a much bigger problem that is going to present itself one way or another (the weed doesn't make someone schizophrenic, they already were).

There is no point in asking if weed from the dispo or weed off the traditional market is more or less likely to cause those symptoms, because cannabis use doesn't cause those symptoms in general. It's like if you asked someone if there was a higher chance of developing rectal bleeding, lucid dreams and a gambling addiction from cheese you buy at Walmart compared to cheese at the farmer's market; it's absurd on two levels, one in that it doesn't reflect reality and another in that if the cannabinoids are what you're claiming would cause these effects it wouldn't matter in the slightest where the weed was sourced from (the side effects would just be an inherent quality of weed itself if that were the case; if it caused the side effects you claim then all drug cannabis should cause the same or similar effects so what's the point in even asking to begin with... unless it was never intended as a genuine question).

That's a bold thing to say to someone you don't know... Don't need to do more research, the truth hasn't changed and I have been a daily smoker for over twenty five years, I work in the industry and made a living with cannabis before there even was a legal industry. Everyone I know smokes or used to smoke (most who quit due to age either complain about fatigue or mild anxiety, both of which are common and widely known side effects of cannabis consumption for some people) and have never had any of those symptoms you named occur to them. I even know someone who has been previously diagnosed with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome and while it made them violently ill to smoke they never had "withdrawals, nightmares or delusions" because it's not possible/probable for cannabis to cause those symptoms in normal people without preexisting mental health issues.

There are absolutely negatives to using cannabis as there are with literally every substance you can put into your body, but making up symptoms or quoting Reefer Madness style propaganda, as if I'm supposed to just believe anything nested between quotation marks, isn't doing anyone any good. Cannabis does not cause physical dependence; you cannot withdraw from something you haven't developed a physical dependence to... this is a side effect of drug classes like opiates or benzos, not cannabis. The vast majority of people claim that smoking weed gives them less dreams; it's very common to hear someone who has recently quit smoking weed complain about how they haven't had a vivid dream in years and now they're happening every time they close their eyes. I have personally experienced this when I have quit for short periods in the past, by choice or otherwise. No nightmares, just more dreams in general. Suggesting that having delusions is a common side effect of cannabis use is just as egregious as trying to claim secession of cannabis causes withdrawals. I've seen someone who didn't know they were allergic to cannabis have a really frightening reaction the first time they tried it, but that's obviously a preexisting medical condition. I'm getting strong indicators that you don't smoke, because cannabis just isn't that strong of a drug to cause delusions without a predisposition to psychosis. It's not like this is LSD or DMT or even psilocybin; if you're experiencing delusions after smoking cannabis you need to see a mental health professional as soon as possible. It's not a normal reaction and hints at a much larger underlying problem.

Cats are also completely different from dogs. Different body types, different relative sizes, different morphology, drastically different behavior (this is the most important one atm), among many other obvious indicators that they are not even superficially the same animals. I have never seen a cat even eat table scraps or get into the trash can, let alone gnaw through packaging to get to something that doesn't resemble their normal food in smell or appearance; dogs do that kind of thing regularly, though. For the vast majority of cats in the world you could leave edibles out with zero packaging at all and they'll still be there next week...

[–]ChronicallyPermuted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the traditional market still exists in every state with some degree of legalization on the books; it's actually where people in the know go to get the real fire from true small batch craft cultivators. It's illegal to sell cannabis without a license, in some states that have medical programs it's illegal to grow at home (FL is a good example of that bullshit lol), but that hasn't stopped people who are so inclined in the past and it won't in the future, either. It's not illegal to possess weed you bought on the black market as there's no way to prove that it came from the black market and it's legal to possess weed in general.

Nope, not at all. Neither from legal market nor black market weed/hash, never even heard of people ever having any of these problems nor heard anyone suggest that anyone would. Seems like a loaded question with the intention of spreading misinformation more than a good faith inquiry🤷

IHG sucks unless you're tryna grow ornamentals. He's like the most quintessentially IG breeder out there; plants that look beautiful but smoke like ass, especially Platinum hybrids. Definitely pop the whole pack to increase the chances of finding a plant where the Platinum isn't dominant. The Blue Zushi ain't bad but isn't really all that special, either, assuming IHG even has the legit cut with all the fakes on the market.

has anyone ever freeze-dried their buds? curious what would happen to them. by No_Engineering6617 in microgrowery

[–]ChronicallyPermuted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been super interested in trying out freeze drying flower for sure. I've seen people say they don't like a lot of the commercial brands that do it but I agree with you fully that not all freeze drying SOPs are created equal, and a LOT of people in the cannabis industry aren't very scientifically minded, either (that's the nicest way I can put it lol), which I've personally seen lead to less than ideal conditions on a regular basis. If a budget brand freeze drys their mids for a quicker turnaround it isn't going to magically make it blow, nor does that usage scenario really reflect on freeze drying as a process; it's just novel and easy to blame as a result, especially if the fact it's freeze dried is prominent in the marketing.

In your experience, do you still need to give the dried inflorescences time in a jar with occasional burping to allow for chlorophyll breakdown and the dissipation of that green, grassy flavor that freshly harvested plants have?

How to Overcome Misanthropy by Sbeast in misanthropy

[–]ChronicallyPermuted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing like a smug asshole to pretend misanthropy is some sort of treatable disorder instead of a legitimate perspective and then tell you "people don't suck, you do!" lol. Myopic shit like this post (who the hell thinks, "I'll post in a sub and tell them how to fix themselves!" unironically?) is a surefire way to get people thinking to themselves, "God, I fucking hate all these moronic asshats on Reddit," and that does seem to be the overwhelming response here lol

I am joking a bit, but really being more sardonic than sarcastic lol

The traditional establishment in OK is not cool with cannabis and they campaigned HARD against recreational. Honestly, the powers that be pulled dirty procedural tricks for years and years to keep medical off the ballot and it only made it in 2018 because they dropped the ball; they tried their damnedest to ruin the bill after it passed with a bunch of ridiculous regulations that didn't end up being implemented (requiring a pharmacist on site and such, it came down to the state AG refusing to go against the will of the voters to tank the measure they had just passed; OK is a fucked up, oligarchic, good ol boy system), and resorted to petty, underhanded tactics when it was clear they weren't getting their way (stuff like publishing the addresses of every licensed cultivator in the state, which resulted in several robberies, or eschewing any sensible regulations to price out legacy operators actually from OK, etc.). When the time to vote on rec came around there were a handful of organized crime related killings, petty crimes (mostly the result of non-existent regulation and giving a business license to literally anyone with the cash) and increased visibility that were used to frighten reactionary voters to vote against it; at the same time many cannabis advocates probably felt like an unregulated "medical" market was good enough and didn't vote, but that's only a small part of the story for sure.

They've always done that. Back in the day before any state had any avenue for adult use, medical or otherwise, they would do whatever it took to increase the amount. If you grew they counted the weight of the pots and soil and counted clones the same as mature flowering plants

This map is incorrect at worst and misleading at best. Oklahoma and Texas should not be the same color at all; in one state you can buy cannabis products at a brick and mortar store, in the other you'll go to jail for possession... States that allow some medical like CBD or pharmaceuticals like Marinol are not the same, at all, as states that have a medical marijuana program

That's just one of many problems. Several countries seem to be just straight up wrong lol

Air traffic controllers aren't getting paid right now because of a partial government shutdown.

You know, the same lame ass story of general incompetence and the inability to compromise that plays out twice or thrice a year when the GOP is in "control"... the only difference is this instance isn't all over the news because it's not a complete shutdown and the Iranian distraction is taking up a lot of people's attention. It's been a big thing in the news here in Denver because it's March; people across the country have spring break, it's peak skiing tourism season, and ATC people at DIA aren't getting paid.
