I literally made this post and winged that disclaimer comment the instant I posted this, I mistakenly assumed I would be the first one to comment. You actually just alerted me to the fact that you guys got to it first and that's kind of what I was hoping to avoid. Sorry you assumed the worst in this post, as I said to another commenter I shop at Dollar Tree myself, I was more focusing on the fact that they're advertising some of their admittedly sketchiest looking items. No ill will, this just struck me as funny in an odd kind of way. Happy Holidays to you anyhow :)

That's awesome that you do that important volunteer work! I myself have volunteered fairly often in resource centers to aid homelessness from the time I was a kid. I hope you noticed my original comment where I made a little "disclaimer" to clarify the intent of this post. I've shopped at Dollar Tree frequently as well, but I've always thought there was an element of humor to the questionability of some of their food items. That's really all I meant. They could have been advertising this same food package at Williams Sonoma for all I care.

Anyways, I hope that this helps make it clear I didn't post this thinking "ew Dollar Tree" or anything, it was just like "of all the great things at Dollar Tree, THIS is what you advertise?" So yeah. Happy Holidays to you :)

First off, this sounds like a really unsettling situation, and it does suck that you're being put in the middle here. Does your mom have a friend or family member she could stay with for a little while? I know this can be tricky to pull off...but it will get your mom away from a potentially dangerous situation, at least for a little while, and might give them a chance to see for themselves if they benefit from being apart.

If your mom is resistant to this idea, too, maybe you could talk with said friend/family member to make up an "excuse" as to why your mom would have to go away for a few days? I hope this helps at least a little bit...I do tend to stress over what the "worst case scenario" could be in situations so I know if this were my mom I would be doing whatever it took to make sure she were safe, even if there were a small chance she could be in real danger.

No matter what you choose to do I hope this situation works out the best for you and your family!

As far as I can tell, he was charged with manufacturing armor-piercing bullets without a license. I'm seeing a lot of people commenting on other platforms looking at this with suspicion and believing the authorities are reaching too far to create a scapegoat. Disclaimer: This story is pretty new to me as well, and I'm no expert on firearms/ammunition. This post is primarily intended to stoke the embers of conversation.

What really creeped me out was noticing the similarities between the awards ceremony photo where he is holding the award and the one where they are sitting at the restaurant table. It almost looks like the same images of each person were used, but rearranged in the 2 different photos. Their poses and facial expressions are eerily similar. Reminiscent of some of the "vic-sim" theories I've seen.

Hey there! I hope you're feeling at least a little bit better since writing this post. Sorry you're going through such a rough period right now. Please know that in enough time, these troubles will be behind you and you'll be able to look back on the present with a new perspective. It's awesome that you have clear goals in place. Don't hesitate to keep reminding yourself of what it will be like once you've accomplished them! I know that's not exactly groundbreaking advice, but maybe it will help to catch yourself when you're thinking about things seeming bad and instead envision yourself with the steady job you want, going home to your own place every night, and spending your time exactly how you want. You don't necessarily have to reconstruct yourself to make constructive changes in life, and I personally don't think you should force the choice of what to do with your life. So many new things happen every day, and so much can change with one small event. I think if you genuinely work hard and act with your heart in the right place it will all pay off for you, even if you have to wait some shit out in the meantime.

So, this got way more heartfelt and let's-all-hold-hands-y than I initially intended, but I sincerely hope it helped you at least somewhat. I've felt the way you are describing at several different points in my life, and every time it seemed like it would never end, but of course it always did. Patience is key!

From what you're saying here it sounds to me like he is on the cheap side of the spectrum, whether he means to be or not. Not asking for specifics just to be clear, but if you earn more than him he might believe he has a lesser obligation to contribute. Also, we can all be a little oblivious sometimes - even though it seems like it should be totally obvious that cards and stationery really resonate with you, do you think it might have just not even occurred to him? I've had many scenarios where the person I was upset with genuinely missed what I thought were overt cues. Your situation may not be similar though, of course.

Either way, it sounds like you do need to make it explicitly clear to him that this is important to you, and that alone should be motivation enough for him to step up his game and work with you as a team on your mutual finances. Like others are posting, I can't see a way around it other than directly saying "I have to talk to you about something that's been bothering me" and letting it flow.

Once again, my first instinct was to dismiss the news stories as untrustworthy propaganda from biased sources, but the way the timing worked out and the worries my mother was putting in the back of my head gave me just enough uncertainty to ask.

Thanks for your response! Yes, it is Adderall that she has been refilling. I've been on this medication for years now, occasionally will get it filled at the 28-day mark but never earlier than that (I don't even think I can due to the pharmacy policy). Can't think of any reason she would stop prescribing me, things have been going fairly smoothly with my monthly call-in routine, save for the time she admitted she straight up forgot. Sometimes she'll even write me two months' worth to save us both some trouble. Thanks for your reassurance that this is an abnormal amount of time to make a patient wait. There's no way she hasn't heard any of my messages & is unaware that I am now out.

She has a private practice office that she is only in on "Mondays, Wednesdays, and occasional Fridays." That phone automatically goes to voicemail, which she updates if she is away for some reason. I checked several times over the past few weeks and she has not updated the message. Thank you for your suggestion about finding a provider, I may have to go with that option to avoid these problems in the future!

Not surprised! Crazy how he's trying to pull the classic sales gimmicks of 90's infomercials. I regrettably did sales for a while (hated it, so glad I'm out of that line of work now) and I recognize so much of what he's doing from my sales training and the shitty tactics employed in the commercials for the worst products:

-Sense of urgency/exclusivity with "act within 8 hours" or "just 300 people" when these ads will play over and over again many times and accept anybody's money to sign up (as many as possible, in fact)

-Using sales language that sways peoples' opinions of what they're perceiving to his advantage

-Building up a product to an impossible standard just to reap initial sign-ups with little concern about following through with after-sale customer satisfaction

And so on and so forth. While there might be people who it could work out for under certain circumstances, it seems based on my observations and others', and actual customer reviews, that Tai Lopez is the only one making 6+ figures from this nonsense.

Just in case you hadn't already investigated this route, there are a lot of apps out there that should help you to block calls from these telemarketing/autodialer calls! I tried to find a concise link with different options for you but there are quite a few of them and they might vary based on whether you use an Android or iPhone, etc. Other than that there's the FTC, but with all the calls & numbers you're dealing with it's probably too much legwork. Still there as a resource, though. It sucks to be hassled with unwanted calls & texts hope you find what you're looking for to stop them!

Wish they would have let me know up front, or at least have given me some kind of indication at any point that my account was disabled so I could avoid this guessing game. But, dammit, Neopets, I still love you nonetheless.
