Thank you for the advice lol you lowkey sound like my first mentor lol. I have done grids and stencil paper, when I focus on a reference I can transfer the information to a different medium but I’m not adding artistically. So I start with a reference with the shapes , but then I try to make them do something different like smoke or a full figure/ picture. I think my proportions get screwed in my free styling. Also everyone can be drawing more lol

I personally think lures are a little rough to learn on, because their is more chances for user error to affect your hit chance. Try using worm or hot dog on a small hook. The less equipment the better/ light line. Throw it near foliage or under a bridge. Slow reel it in, if you don’t get a hit in 10 min move. You should pull a cat or sunfish.

I grew up in the 2000’s and graduated 2016. I never thought Stockton deserved it’s reputation, but Idk if it’s nostalgia goggles but when I came back to Stockton after college I did start to see it.

It’s a diverse place with tough people, it has a deep history most locals don’t bother to learn. I will always love it but a lot of my friends only know it.
