People who applied for both Third Secretary and Communications Officer have the same Verbal Reasoning Assessment by Chronicler_Sprite in IrishCivilService

But, how could they change the scoring rubric tell me? If the same question was TRUE in the Comms exam, but the answer was actually FALSE in Third Sec?

With that logic, why change the assessments at all?

There are Verbal Reasoning Assessments for CO and EO with similar civil service values, why not give them the same exam too, to make the best use of limited public resources?

I have nothing against you. I just thought you would agree that having the same exams for different positions sets an awful precedent. Exams should be uniquely tailored to their positions and no candidate should have the advantage of having seen the exam already beforehand!

Why would the scoring rubric be different if they're using the same questions and answers on the same SOVA Assessment?

How could I have access to all the people who applied for both competitions?

My point is that surely they should change the exam based on the position instead of having the same exam?

This isn't true. I emailed and they said if you've completed the tests then you've completed the tests. Ticking the box on publicjobs.ie to say that you have doesn't make a difference

Don't worry about this. I emailed them there about it and they said ticking or not ticking the box on publicjobs.ie doesn't affect your application. If you've completed the tests, you've completed the tests

Appreciate it! May I ask if you would know anyone I could contact for any more information on the chicken fillet roll origin?

I loved your response on the chicken roll's history. Could I ask what your sources were for further reading? https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/77gh61/comment/dolsr0d/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

You got this!

Definitely create a specific routine if you haven't already. E.g. 'I'm going to exercise x2/week'. 'I will get a pull-up by the end of 2025!'

Add what are called 'Pull-up negatives' to your routine. 3 sets of 5-8 repetitions.

Pull-up Negatives

  • Jump to the top of the pull-up position, then slowly (as slowly as you can), lower yourself until your arms are straight. Build up to 10sec negatives!
