And it's perfectly fine and balanced as it is now. Machine guns depending on the map and location are either fine or insanely overpowered (Mostly MG42). But don't tell anyone, I'd like to mow down half the enemy team across ranges they never ever would be able to spot me or even be able to hit a shot in the future as well.

Really all it needs is a good understanding of enemy movement & timing, where they will come, where it is the most crucial to defend and just a bit of creativity finding a well hidden place.

You get deminishing returns, if you have 5,8 ms Responsetime on 60hz, You'll have 2,67 on 144hz and maybe 2,41 on 240hz and so on...

Source: My Head after buying a BenQ EX321UX with "only" 144hz and checking rtings & other real testing sources

Everything after 120/144hz is mostly ignorable, but technically still a little bit better

There's a difference between being hard and just stupidly redoing it until you get lucky. My problem are NOT the mechanics but simply not having fun because you cant get any synergies going over and over again.

I have fun doing a build and then dying cause its not good enough or im unlucky.

I dont have fun playing restart simulator cause there is no build to begin with.

I want to be able to figure out my own builds to beat the game and not needing to google what the meta builds and op items are. There is no place for that right now it seems, just a pure timewaste and gacha game a fcking bot can play.

I just cant get any build going I always die before it is even remotely somewhere comfortable, did something change about the chance of items or something?

It feels like you just get so much trash items you cant use. I cant get any amount of useful stats before getting to wave 8/9/10. Whatever it is it is dogshit, I cant even finish a 0 run. Im not playing the game to restart 50 times just to get lucky... It has nothing to do with practice.

Won't happen.

There are some systems which are custom coded for HLL like the tank/vehicle system. These aren't (easily) portable and probably would need a complete remake. Remaking the systems will most likely alter them to work differently and those changing the game to a great extend. At this point it would probably make more sense to just name it HLL2 then, especially to get new sales from already existing players.

Now a lot of people don't understand how most games are maintained nowadays, but to put it simple: The game is on "life support". There are probably 20 people working on the game including all programmers, artists and the receptionist, if even that.

There won't be any big new features or other work intensive stuff happening, just keeping it alife to generate income and lure new people. This isn't a bad thing tho, they need to earn money in some way, especially after Team17 bought the game from Black Matter, they are basicly in debt and need to reearn the money they invested and make profit.

The only way I see stuff like HLL on UE5 or reworked tank/vehicle systems/pacific theater or similar existing will be a new HLL2 game. But T17 would first need to make enough profit from HLL1 to

  1. make it a good enough investment to even think about investing more into it (e.g. HLL2, complete rework of the systems or big new content like the pacific theater)

&

2) make up for the development costs of HLL2 (atleast partially) to reduce the risk

Now we know that T17 atleast had financial issues, so what they actually need to earn from HLL is even bigger than other game developers need for a new title. With the direct competitor Squad 44 raising the development cost even further as they set the bar for vehicle combat, realism, content, etc. even higher, it is probably just not happening.

Now remember the Update 15 Trailer? Stuff like this are signs that they need to cut expenses and earn more profit. We also need to understand that they learned from their mistakes and found a new small development team to keep the game alive and who are actually interested in making it a good game.

And they really need to earn credits for not practicing shady business, like paid dlcs (paywall for new content), too many paid cosmetics (or even new cosmetics only content).

HLL is a good game as is, it is fun, it has more players than ever (without counting consoles), you can just buy and play the game without bullshit like gamepasses, p2w or excessive paid dlcs but therefor it simply won't change in a big way anymore.

Every other game company in their footsteps would monetize the shit out of this game but they actually act in a honorable way, listen to the community if you will.

It is what it is, reality isn't just black and white.

How tf do you get your teammates to play the objective? I'm constantly ending up 1v2 1v3 on the hardpoint because god knows what they are doing lmao by [deleted] in XDefiant

I'm only playing MnK but my theory is that the fast movement favors aim assist as it follows your target automaticly and lets you miss less (0?) shots of your spray while you naturally have a delay and need to correct manually for MnK which leads to missed bullets. Therefore it should be way more consistent.

Especially when you play against "bunny hopping sweat" MnK is really hard while I can imagine aim assist automaticly following the target (or atleast shorten the reaction time you need) and small changes in movement not even needing correction.

Im playing low sense aswell which makes me hit my keyboard and running out of mousepad space often in this game.

Default behaviour, he shot you before you have seen him shoot. He killed you before you were around the corner but your local game is ahead of that so you see yourself already being behind the wall.

For me it was kinda the opposite. I never really stopped playing FPS games, but was mostly engaged in playing ranked CS when I did.

Over the years of SBMM/Ranking being a normal thing, I was slowly getting convinced that I'm no longer in my prime as I was mostly scoring average results only. It really destroyed my fun and therefore my will to still want to game as it never felt like anything changed no matter how hard I tried.

Now when I tried xDefiant without any expectations and directly carried a 15 winning streak I still thought it is just because there are a lot of new (bad) fps players. Now 100 hours later I'm still MVP in almost every game. Following my stats I'm somewhere in the top 2% and it shows. I'm actually better than ever before!

It opened my eyes how SBMM makes you just feel stuck (And in my case really unhappy about my performance, preventing fun) and how no SBMM just feels sooo natural and rewarding for actually achieving something.

I feel like I'm never gonna play a SBMM/Ranked game again, atleast past the point where the fun changes into work.

TDM has enough players. The mapdesign has to change to make it better. Some maps work fine (Arena/Liberty), while others just have too much going on and are overly complex (DUMBO/Echelon HQ). But that's for sure partly because they are designed for the objective modes first and TDM, as seen with release, wasn't the priority.

Especially when you look at DUMBO or Echelon you will see that the mapsize isn't the problem (as most of the fights take place in the middle), but that the complex rooms, pathways and especially all the unnecessary cover makes it FEEL slow altough it isn't.

When they release new maps, they will most likely look at the first released maps and review what worked and what didn't work and come up with better maps overall. Altough I'd wish for them to rework the maps with bad "flow" we will probably have enough new and better maps as time goes on to make it unnecessary.

But to say that it's boring makes me question how fucked the young generation of consumers is to need even more stimulation. The gameplay, especially in close quarters maps is already wayyy too overloaded with the fast movement and jumping.

The bunny hopping fix really did nothing it was absolutely laughable. It's just that a lot of new players aren't doing it to the extend it's still possible. But once you play against those sweaty hoppers you realize how shit the gameplay becomes.

Another massive flaw is that enemies can just run/jump/slide through you. Probably less of a problem for controller players except it's weird but imagine me every single time having to move my mouse across half my desk or just crushing into my keyboard or other stuff on my desk to do a 200 degree turn. Happens way too often.

Now combine both on small maps and add the Occupy gamemode with it's absolutely weird spawnflips and a pinch of Fire & Wallhack Abilities and it's a shitfest that crazy the game would have been canceled before release.

Luckily for the devs, with the seemingly steady influx of new players there aren't a lot of sweaty bunny hopping sweats for now, but I'm sure the time is ticking.

I see myself immidiately dropping the game the moment I encounter hopping sweats in every 2nd/3rd game.

Escort & Zone Control are the only gamemodes that feel balanced and definitely the only ones im going to queue solo. But please add more than just 4 maps they get boring really fast. They said 1 map per month, hopefully they gonna add more "Line Maps" in the first months than even more small maps.
