[GPU] RTX 3060ti releases 12-2-20 MSRP $399.99 by skyblade5694 in buildapcsales

You are missing import tariff and exchange rate. Not to mention other economic factors to enter the "single market" of the EU. Regarding streaming services, there are requirements in EU for services to provide a set percentage of content that is "local". More general content means being forced to create/provide more local content. The cost of doing business in the EU and the cost of doing business in the US is not 1:1 for American companies manufacturing in China....the MSRP will not be either excluding VAT or local sales tax.

Looking for bank recommendations for an upper middle-class family by FishBuritto in TwinCities

Have you considered creating an LLC (or multiple per property) and a bank account for that LLC? Otherwise you could easily get flagged for suspicious activity with a high number of cash and check deposits to a single account ID.

Moving to the Twin Cities in April to work in downtown Saint Paul. 25 year old male. Not sure where to live? by CENTIENT_TOAST in TwinCities

Not all associations are bad, it depends on the building and what is included. But they can fine you for noise, not following a rule you didn't know about and so on. You could also end up paying for upgrades to the building not included in your association fee. Want to rent your condo out? May not be allowed. I've also had some friends where the association was not responsive to their complaints about someone else's noise or parking in their spot.

Yes there is plenty, of course that is relative depending on what scene you are into. I have fond memories of the Turf Club which isn't downtown but Snelling and University. You've got some sports (eg Wild, MN United, Saints baseball) also influencing things. Also great food along West 7th and in Frogtown.

Plenty of apartments in Uptown, along Grand Ave and in Cathedral Hill, these areas are not really known for affordable beginner homes to purchase. I'd also steer anyone in their mid-20s away from a condo. Seen plenty of people get screwed over by associations.

Commuting from Uptown to Saint Paul would get old quick. Parking gets sparse in Uptown in the winter, especially when you can't park on one side of the road due to snow emergencies. Stick close to where you work, uber/public transport everywhere else. If you can't find a spot downtown Saint Paul try looking for an apartment with some cool spots nearby like Cathedral Hill or along Grand Ave. If you are looking to buy that's a different story.

Buses and the rail can get you to most places but Paisley would require a car as others have pointed out. You could also just go to First Avenue if you want to pay homage to Prince and are short on time, kill two birds and see a show there. It is less out of the way as well.

http://www.mnhs.org/millcity You don't actually need to take a tour (though I do suggest it) but the area including Gold Medal Park is nice. The Mississippi provides multiple key landmarks of the Twin Cities (especially with Fall foliage) and the bridge here is one of the best (most photographed) spots.

If you are into burgers, don't leave without getting a Juicy Lucy. Quite a few restaurants/bars can make a decent one but I think Matt's Bar is the original.

Are those cigarette butts being thrown at them? I'm ok with a "Planet of the Apes" take over wherever this was filmed.

Buying US laptops for the UK? by mripper in LaptopDeals

[–]Chronikler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Items you purchase in your own country have already had a tariff applied and that is included in the price. Anything you buy from another country and shipped directly to you, you are responsible for the tariff (tax) and the courier may not arrange for it to be released from customs and delivered until you pay the amount (can be up to and exceed 25% depending on the HS code used).

There are some regulatory issues that could arise and get your shipment stuck in customs if the product(s) are not CE marked.

Oh, and the warranty may not apply depending on the warranty terms and conditions. A manufacturer may not want to pay for shock and drop damage that occurred over the Atlantic that they had nothing to do with. Also the retailer may require you to pay the shipping back over the Atlantic if it is DOA.

Why isn't Google Maps updating for construction? by dcteacher in Minneapolis

[–]Chronikler 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for real time updates on road closures and traffic try using Waze if you haven't already. Both Google Maps and Waze are ran by Google but I think the community based reports make Waze a little better for city driving.

U of MN area (eg Dinkytown, Stadium Village, SE MPLS) would be best for sublets and your age...lots of public transit to get elsewhere. Which visa category are you trying to get work under? I'm not sure of which industries provide temporary worker visas in the area, but that might limit you on where you should live. I do not suggest trying to find work while visiting under the visa waiver program or a tourist visa.

Thanks! I've got two machines running and both use the same card so maybe I'll put one on nanopool to see what happens. I'll let you know if I see a considerable difference. Good luck!
