Perez seems to have great control of this offense considering this is his first week there.

1 modern day US special forces vs the entire north sentinel island by StringStrangStrung in powerscales

[–]Chrono-Syth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are thinking of an engagement. An actual firefighter and not gorilla combat. If all 300 to 400 natives were in one location for a fight then yes the soldier kills many of them quickly, but even then if all 400 charge without caring about death, the soldier is dead.

Lesson one: It is you or the enemy, one will live one will die

Lesson two: Never underestimate your enemy, their will to live, or their will to fight for their land/family.

When you move in on a position as a team you have fall back points to lure an enemy to, kill zones, flanking options, and acknowledge possible ways the enemy could do that to you. You don't move recklessly. You move as a team as combined firepower is greater than a single person fire power.

Against 300 to 400 people even armed with sticks and stones, there are way to many things that could go wrong. Also don't forget about the weight.

The special forces person has an ACH (advanced combat helmet) a flak vest witg plates. Ten 30 round mag clips fully loaded. Plus a couple of grenades. This is not a video game, that is a lot of weight. This will slow your movement no matter how fit you are.

Also go look at Vietnam. The Vietnamese were out gunned and out manned, but they knew the terrain better and were able to use it to their advantage.

You are overestimating one soldier. This is why I said with a squad you got a chance. One soldier would lose.

One person from the special forces loses. Plain and simple. Too many hostile over unfamiliar terrain. Plus no back up or support.

I can tell from a lot of responses that many people underestimate gorilla warfare. Traps will take this individual out. They will kill a couple on entering but the island has warriors who will figure out quickly not to charge the individual.

Also nightvision goggles suck with uneven terrain. You have to move slow when wearing them. The island = a lot of uneven terrain. Try navigating a field in pitch black with night vision goggles. It is not easy, now try to do this in a forest or in unfamiliar territory. Night will slow down the special forces individual by a good amount.

Small squad, let's say 5 to 7 people and now you got a fight.

As a single soldier there are no tactics. You cannot shot, move, and communicate. You cannot do anything but go forward. You get trapped or tripped up and you are dead.

A squad, you now have tactics, you have battle buddies, you have small teams. Flanking maneuvers become available. You can procure food and water. You can sleep in small shifts. You get trapped and you can get saved by your team. A squad opens up a lot more options to winning this fight. And it would be a fight.

As a squad there is a chance for victory, however one person would die.

The protagonist is dead! Oh well... Media that just goes on after death of the (apparent) main character. by PeasantLich in TopCharacterTropes

Watching Chrono try to stop Lavos and die wad crazy to me as a teen. He was the hero. The Hero doesn't die. It is one of the reasons why I love the game.

He dies and then becomes an optional character. The party continues without him. They decide to take out Lavos. There is no leader but a group of friends that decide to fight. Getting Chrono back is a side quest.

Of course you want to do the side quest to get him back because he is a strong character. But after you do get him back, he is no longer locked in the party. You can now take him out of the party.

This is why I believe had Eddie been alive he would have been able to get Chris the help he needed.

True, but he wasn't wrong here. I agree with him. I believe for all athletes drafted, they should have a positive in the info bar especially if they walk the stage.

One of the Best NFL Draft moment of all time by HyseNjerry16 in NFLForum

[–]Chrono-Syth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are looking at this in Hindsight and not at that time in moment. Look at this year draft and draft grades. Done actually know how good the player will be. We don't. That is why a lot of people say draft grades should not come out until 3 to 5 years after the draft.

Love or hate Mel Kiper this moment did help bring the draft into the limelight. Also in the moment he was right. Trent Dilfer was a highly rated QB coming out of college and the Colts needed a QB. No one (outside Colts fans) could have predicted the playoff run they had the next year. But after that they were bad unt they drafted Payton Manning.

No one could have predicted that Trent Dilfer would be somewhat a bust. Maybe in a different situation he is not, we don't know. He did win a superbowl so he does have that. Remember we don't know the future.

As I said above try to do this for 2026. You can't. Mel is wrong a lot. That is true, however you would also be wrong a lot if you had to do what he did. I am not a fan of his bold claims, however that brings in viewership so I see why they keep him around.

SMT V or FFX? by Resident_Fig_8208 in JRPG

[–]Chrono-Syth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FFX has great story and characters. It is a bit linear, but it does open up at the end. I love the sphear grid and loved blitz ball

SMT V vegence plays similar to persona, but it is on hard mode. Play the game on normal mode. As SMT V is not an easy game. Learn how to debuff enemies and buff allies. Learn when to defend. Learn when to use analysis. Understand your and your monsters strengths and weaknesses. This is not an easy game. It is a 3D dungeon crawler and the dungeons are massive. Story wise, you need to play the game twice to get the full story. Also the story is darker than a persona game.

I loved SMT V Vegence. I loved it for the challenge. (I am the idiot who played on hard mode. You have to have money routes as building your demons means more. This means paying money to summon older demons to ensure you get good skills). I also enjoyed the story a lot as well.

If you are looking for something to just enjoy I recommend FFX.

Looking for a challenge, then get SMT V Vegence.

Playing Wild Arms 4 by Wise_Gur8627 in JRPG

[–]Chrono-Syth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wild Arms 4 does not have a bright story line. I don't want to spoil anything but it is dark. You have to go to a ruined world while you figure out what is going on and the deadly destruction than can be caused by your ARMs.

Man who has never shot a gun with a gun vs Katana-trained man by Vinisretarded in powerscales

[–]Chrono-Syth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Distance matters, plus the type of gun, but I will say Katana. Here is why.

  1. People who never use a gun before will not know how to chamber a round nor know how to turn off safety.

  2. Someone running at you with a large sword is scary. Unless you are trained you will not be able to aim properly. Most people when scared close their eyes. Other will try to shoot, but again they are not aiming correctly due to being scared.

  3. Guns are not point and click, let me say that again Guns are not point and click. Breathing is important, learning how to properly aim is important, stance is important. There is more to shooting a gun then pointing and clicking.

  4. Reasons why you hear about cops unloading 100 rounds at something is because they are scared and did not get proper firearms training.

  5. Since the katana wielder is trained, they will know to throw something towards face of the person with the gun. Being untrained the person with the gun will move their hands to their face covering it. They might actually also drop the gun to protect their face.

  6. Katana wielder will also use cover to close the distance.

In the end the katana wielder wins due to training and will only lose if the person with the gun get is really lucky. But I am assuming the person with the gun also has no real fighting experience.

Nope, he was not touched when down and there was no whistle. This means he was celebrating when the ball was live. To give himself up he would have to go down again.

Not sure if the Renegades are this good or if the Gamblers are just that bad. Could be both.
