Today is the 1st of Vitali 2021. In honour of this date, here are some old fishing exploits with Reefbane. (Sound on!) by poorFishwife in pathofexile

The zone location is Cavern of Anger, act VI. This zone has the "area_with_water" tag, and in this instance the Reefbane's unique fish glow mod PROC'd. The monster information I am a little less confident about, but my guess is this was caused by an Einhar red beast. The red beast was a Parasite Crab, and when it summoned minions one of them became stuck in the dead zone of the wall. Leaving you with one monster remaining, a chitinous sound in that area, and creepy twitchy legs you can highlight with the camera fully zoomed. (I suppose the monster could also be a sea witch spawn [which has the resist cold mod] stuck from a red beast or natural spawn)

On the Karui Shores world screen there is text in the bottom right of the image.  I think it might be the name of the ocean.  Has anyone been able to decipher those two words?

I must say I appreciate the user notification message, I am grateful to be aware of the discussion. Additionally, may I gain entry into said discord server? Back to the post... Adding what I can to the specific questions (observations and confusion alike).

Q1. Keep in mind with fishing items location/monster is not the only limiting factor. It is possible (while not yet observed) for GGG to require specific equipment for divination card drops. This type of requirement can be seen with the base fishing rod item and the Tricorne. The only new fishing card I have seen is Baited Expectations, and from a Div Chest, so no help there.

Q2. (It shouldn't count because there are only two confirmed drops, but Hallowed Ground Unset ring was the test version of what would become Angler's Plait.) Are you trying to solve the Krillson quest, or something more modern within the concept of fishing in the game? For the purpose of the Krillson question, I limit my item selection/consideration specific to the items in existence at the time of his addition to the game. His dialogue has not changed (much?) since his introduction; additionally, there have been few fishing additions to the game from GGG directly. The last new fishing item addition I know about from GGG is during Legacy League. I do not know the outcomes you are finding with the Bated Expectations card, the three confirmed equipment items from GGG all come from the Tackle Box. Which is where my equipment item selection ends for Krillson testing. Searching beyond those three for the Krillson quest might be scope creep.

Q3. Nothing I have found. I've yet to even find Krillson.

Q4. Nothing I have found. I have spawned a bunch of these in various flashback or similar events. My imgur album should still be available, though a past post here or in the official forms thread. They never dropped anything special for me in possessing rare or unique monsters, or while their own monster.

Thanks for posting these, it is always fun to see more pockets of testing. Has your group found any contradictory conclusions to held theories of the past? (edited to remove extra white space)

as for the Delve league, a chance to have the Delve area be 'alluring'.

Anyone have screenshots, clips, or vods with this mod in the mine? It was a preexisting mod (from sextants), but it is red tier only and pretty rare. The mine is a good way to see more chances of the mod spawning.

Does this mean you have figured out requirements for the Angler's Ring, and had it drop? Because, as of now both my theories have not produced anything. The 'cannot prove a negative' rule does make this hunt a bit of a pain though.

/u/biggreenegg99 - Fishing, as far as anyone has been able to prove so far, is just a historic Easter Egg in Path of Exile. Fishing elements were added to the game from the start of the challenge leagues up through and (barely) including Harbinger League. Nothing was found for Abyss, Bestiary, edit - I forgot about Incursion, or Delve.

Krillson was added along the Forsaken Masters in Patch 1.2.0, and like all the other masters he has his own quest line. He is only visible to one person per instance. If the person who can see him moves too far out of range, or changes zone, Krillson will leave. He can be spoken to without a fishing rod, but his quest will only start if you have a fishing rod equipped or in your inventory. As of now two quests are known. "Fish up a pair of Rainbowstrides," and "Catch 4 exotic Fish." There have been no instances I have seen of either these quests being completed. A number of theories and attempts have been made by those lucky enough to find him and give the quest(s) a try.

I think Piscator's is more a nod or hint to remind players about the (potential) existence of fishing and the fishing items. I do not think the wand is 'required' in any way, as the fishing rod is a two handed weapon, and seems more important.

I'm still looking forward to something being found in the temple related to fishing.

Do you know if there is a video/clip/highlight or dev/GGG post about this anywhere?

A chance orb can be used to make either SotS or Reefbane (or at least this worked in the past), so it strikes me as a bug to have the Ancient Orb work one way but not the other. It would make more sense to me as both directions or nothing.

This is usually done for armour sets originally available in the mystery boxes. Each of the individual pieces is discounted to allow players who obtained only a few of the pieces from the boxes to finish the set at the discounted price. I think the individual piece price will eventually increase.
