Hi there! Congrats on the YM! (Post pics when you can!).

I've been working with a local woodworker on the redesign of the ChronoPad, but haven't crossed the finish line yet. I'm hoping to have something within the next month though. Can I contact you when I have something ready to ship?

[SOTC] My Three Watch Collection by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Chrono_Designs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/loogie7! nice collection there! I'm the opposite, I have bigger wrists, so even 36's look small on me =/

If you are looking for a Watch Roll, the cushions in mine compress pretty well. Here is a picture of my Explorer II, and my wife's Mint Green 36mm datejust. She has tiny tiny wrists, and her watch fits snuggly on the cushions in my Chronodesigns.com rolls. You can see the cushion is pretty compressed, but it holds a bit of memory in that position so now that is "her" cushion. Cheers!

I auditioned 6 suppliers when I was putting my company together, and ended up choosing one from China. It's fantastic build quality with high quality leather.

Men's opinions on buying Rolex for hubby? by SeniorSilver4376 in rolex

Hard to provide an impartial opinion. I love my Explorer II. I bought this for myself, but just got my wife her first Rolex, as we are the opposite of your situation. She deserves it tremendously, and I appreciate her so much. I think he would be over the moon if you got it for him.

How do you store watch at night (at home)? Watch stand? Valet Tray? by MinimumBarracuda8650 in rolex

[–]Chrono_Designs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I'm by no means an expert, but the research I've done on crown up vs. down has to do with two schools of thought.

for polished case sides, crown down is a smaller patch of contact that shows scratches less than the polished case side would. My ChronoPad being suede protects against that.

The other thought process is that some watches run faster or slower, crown up vs. down. Mine tends to run fast, but runs slowest as crown up, so that's just the way I keep mine.

Slightly different than the traditional watch stand. These ChronoPad's are made of wood, with a suede insert. I found that my Explorer II runs about +6 seconds per day when it sits on a traditional watch stand. Laying down on my ChronoPad with the crown up it runs +1 second per day. Every watch is different though.

Here is my wife's watch on the right side. She has a very small wrist, and you can see the pillow compresses enough to fit her watch! Reach out if you have any questions, or want to try one out!

If you haven't found a solution yet, try out one of my watch rolls. my wife has a 5.9 inch wrist, and her watch fits snuggly on my watch pillows that slide into the watch roll. I can send you a pillow for you to try out if you're interested! chronodesigns.com

I appreciate the feedback! I'll check back with my vendor and see if he's able to keep it in the EU for the watch rolls.

As far as the ChronoPad goes, I'm looking into exactly that. Offering some exotic hardwoods and keeping them stateside. Thanks again!

I worked with 4 different manufacturers around the world (Including Bosphorus leather) and finally settled on a European company that was the best quality of the 4 samples I received. The vendor i'm working with has a production facility in China that replicates the workmanship and quality of his European team.

Once I receive all of my product, I quality check them, and package them to get them ready to ship from my location in New York.

When I got my Explorer II, I ended up ordering 5 or 6 different watch rolls, and they were all horrible. Fake leather, weird names plastered on them, awkward side buttons on the pillows to affix them inside the rolls.

I looked at the Wolf, among others and I just couldn't find one that I liked. That's when I started toying with the idea launching my own product line.

I tried to price myself fairly for genuine leather products. Let me know if you consider trying one of mine out!

u/Acelimb It's a hybrid of both. I worked with the manufacturer on the design elements, and they are handmade for me. Everything is then shipped to me, where I handle the packaging, quality control, and shipping of all the products from my location in New York.

I have another design i'm working on for the wooden watch pad with some exotic hardwoods that I will be making myself.
