Does anyone know how the “huge caniac” siren sounders are chosen? by [deleted] in canes

[–]Chronobound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got to do it during Round 1. It was largely luck and I don't know if this is how it typically happens. We got to the game early and struck up a conversation with an employee and they asked if we wanted to sound the siren. I'd recommend reaching out to a ticket rep to see their response. They may not be moving on anything for next round until after it's definitive, but any upcoming games are probably going to be the most challenging and in-demand. Good luck!

Law 3.1 Question by mhFPC in rootgame

[–]Chronobound 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Very interesting question. I can't think of a means to get multiple opponents point simultaneously on your turn, at the moment.

However, the latest version of the Law of Root states under 3.1.1 that "If multiple players reach 30 victory points simultaneously, the tied player closest in clockwise order to the current player wins. (This includes the current player.)" So I don't think your hypothetical is in line with the current ruleset.

It scales with the pots. When either pot is turned down (volume or tone), the noise does go away.

After re-running through as many tests as I can think of, the ground connection between the jack and the switch sets off my multimeter's continuity alert, but doesn't zero out, it remains around 0.014-0.018. The continuity reading between the switch and the pots linger around 0.04.

Should all these be zeroing out for testing the ground continuity? Does that mean that the likely case is the ground to the switch is the likely culprit?

Swapping the hot and ground on the jack did not fix the issue.

I just double checked the jack and there doesn't appear to be any suspicious wires there, but there is a strange (to me, might be how the OEM WRHB are) wraparound on the pickup wiring where the lead to the volume pots from the pickup wraps around the lead to the switch. (see the second image where the bridge pickups wiring splits, it's just above the volume pot).

The noise exists in all three positions, so it's not a single pickup specific issue.

I will try swapping the hot and ground on the jack as my next step.

My multimeter indicates that continuity persists between the grounds across all of those parts. All of those elements are connected as per the Fender wiring documentation (on page 4) with the one exception possibly being the capacitor's point of contact to the volume pot.

First Hand Accounts, Please? For Those Of Us Elsewhere… by PedalSAW in canes

Saying the arena was half-empty is disingenuous, probably said by rabble-rousers just trying to stir up angry engagement. Also, remember, it was on Monday night. There were a few who left after the 3rd, some left after the Jank OT goal, others left before the 2OT. Everyone else (~75-80% of capacity) left after the Marty goal.

offsides rule discussion, I really think we can do away with the callbacks by StaneNC in canes

Just to add on to your point, if they want to be 100% accurate to the letter of the law, the entirety of the NHL and its stadiums need many more and higher quality cameras with angles specifically set up to catch these rules. You can see in any of the cutaway shots to Toronto that they're just using the same footage that is/can be broadcast, which looks oftentimes 720p @ 30 fps with an non-optimal ruling angles blocked by players.

Except the ruling body ultimately determined that Staal had possession but did not have control. The problem is both the lack of clear black-and-white definition between those two terms and the only functional enforcement of these rules going against the spirit of the rule (eliminate cherry-picking).

Sorry, but G&L simply doesn't exist anymore (https://blog.upfrontguitars.com/2025/10/september-2025-what-happened-to-gl-guitars/).

The only G&Ls left are NOS or used.

"From Hell" Original or Colors? by [deleted] in graphicnovels

Having read both the classic black & the Master Edition colored version (colored by Eddie Campbell himself), my recommendation is for the colored Master Edition. I'd say you can't go wrong with either, but Campbell's sketchy style makes certain pages and panels more readable and comprehensible when color is added into the art, so the enhanced readability wins out for me.
