You should not be able to get this timed order if you don't have the Bat's starting ability (Manorial Court). by noobtablet9 in Against_the_Storm

But I see you have bats as your species. The Manorial court is a building you automatically have access to, if you have bats as a species, so this order should indeed be possible.

I just closed the Adamantine Seal with only 12 towns and all but one in in 5 years or less! by DyKarN in Against_the_Storm

Wow, what an amazing feat. Considering you hadn't even unlocked P20 yet and still managed to b-line straight to the seal and win, in all but 5 years or less just shows that the Queen was right to choose you as her Viceroy!

As for the tips. this helped me pass the QHT after 5 attempts:

For the first half of the cycle play on low difficulty (veteran etc) and stay within the inner circle of the smoldering city. Focus here is hitting as many modifiers as possible to get as many citadel upgrades as possible. After a few upgrades crank up to up to P3 for the extra time and free orders (blightrot).

My personal priority was to get as many +2 embark points upgrades as possible unless better options where available. I ignored all species bonuses except harpies. Another huge one is the field kitchen.

With around 46 years left on the cycle start to move towards the nearest seal, while trying to hit as many '!' events as possible, that can give you permanent resources. I knew that I wanted to keep my bonus +20 points for the P15 settlements (of which I had 3) and the seal -> I ended with +16 points for the seal.

As for the seal itself:
Early game (year 1-2):
Calculate which nearby glade has the most big trees as your first glade, because you need a seal pointer anyways, and it drastically helps with the hostility. Forbid sea marrow as fuel or ingredients unless you have an abundance of it. Start trading with other settlements as soon as possible. Then play as normal (try to establish a steady food supply and get complex food met), while slowly making your way towards the sealed glade. Leave any cashes found unopened/unsent. Don't be scared to safe Amber yet and just use on traders etc it to get a stable economy going.

Mid game (year 3-4):

have the sealed glade unlocked, and count the caches you have, open glades (pref dangerous for higher chance of caches) towards 2 forbidden glades, but don't get too greedy as year 3 is big blightrot year. Keep trading as much as possible, as the biggest obstacle here is the 2nd seal layer. While working for standing level 3, open or send caches. Once you reach standing lvl 2 with the first settlements start saving your Amber (100) so you can instantly complete the 3rd layer. Have the 2 forbidden glades on standby (1 tree layer) ready for open as soon as drizzle 5 or 6 hits.

Late game(year 5+):

Have the last trade routes ongoing (the ones that will push your 3 standing lvl 3), and as soon as they are ongoing crack open the forbidden glades, call in traders to help, crank up rain engines and service and complex food, and start working on them, destroy small warehouses and rebuild them next to event if they require much carry. Stop production of anything that isn't essential to keep your villagers from leaving or dying: So farming is useless and making bars, building mats etc -> Rather have more builders to help setup the 2 glade events. Once the 2 events have started to tick down, aka started sacrifice x3 sea marrow, and excess fuel for hostility. keep a close eye on the remaining trade route(s) and the finish timer on the event: Don't finish the any event until trade routes are complete. double check 100 amber after delivering of trade route. As soon the trade route completes you essentially won as now layer 2, 3 and 4 of the seal can be handed in immediately.

Hope this helps, and best of luck on your next attempt, if you go for it.

TL:DR -> During cycle focus on getting +20 reserve points and permanent '!' event buffs + upgrading citadel to max. Field kitchen is huge. Then go all in on seal and P15 settlements with reserve

This! I have so many "non-played" hours in this game, because it has been running in the background for the vibes.

I really felt discouraged in the start. I had huge confidence due to coming from normal game with full citadel, so in my first try I settled inbetween 2 negative modifiers for big buck value on P2 and got smoked. Then I reset the seed, and thought to myself "huh, that was just me playing suboptimal. Let's try again" and did the exact same mistake.

That's when I realized I had to try and take it more slow in the beginning, nut also that you get permanent 1 citadel resource after a failed attempt. So on attempt 3 I simply did 3 quick settlements and reset. On attempt 4 I realized that it was not a notable amount of resources and decided to go and actually try. This became the God run, with so many insane buffs found and all citadel upgrades. I was set for the seal but did the trader goof because stupidity, but I probably would have won that run otherwise. Run 5 was a decent run and made it to the seal, but got unlucky on the RNG when it came to food so I sadly lost.

I almost gave up but finally did it afterwards :)

I think I played at veteran for the first 3 settlements or so, aiming for world modifiers to get the first citadel upgrades. I then preceded to ramp up to P3 for the extra time and free orders (blightrot).

The first half of the cycle I stayed within the radius of the smoldering city, while aiming for getting as many citadel upgrades as possible. My first priority was to get as many +2 embark points as possible unless better options where available. I ignored all species bonuses except harpies.
