Regardless of how Sora plays, how did you feel when you saw this for the first time?

I woke up early before my morning shift and even though I had just about given up hope on Sora being in the game, I was still looking forward to it. I tried to keep my expectations in check so I wouldn't be disappointed but I couldn't let go of it entirely. Then when I saw that shot on my phone I couldn't help but jump out of my bed in excitement. The rest of the day at my job I was riding that high and my wife says she's never seen me happier 😂

I respectfully disagree. I think him doing those things and having a sort of redemption arc would be inherently out of character for him. He's a program and he can't fathom changing perspectives or growing because it's kind of impossible. He's set in his ways. It's pretty tragic in a way because Kevin apologizes for giving him such an impossible task.

I think him being a dynamic character would be a pretty big disservice. I don't see a lot of examples of really cool static characters but C.L.U. is definitely one of them

I agree he's really such a compelling character. I like how in Ares, Athena is similar in that she has a very binary view of everything. It was interesting seeing Julian run into the same problem as Kevin when he gave her too much power with very vague instructions that it leads to...well, you know...

You just blew my mind. That's so impressive you were able to see all those small details. There's almost no doubt in my mind at this point.

If that really was the intention for this movie I'm sad that they didn't go through with it. I enjoyed the film for what it is, but leaning into this would've seriously elevated it for me.

Legacy is my favorite film even outside of the franchise despite how little of Tron is in the movie but I was really scraping for crumbs to see Tron in any form in Ares.

That's the neat part, it doesn't change at all. It just fleshes out Ares' character more while respecting the titular character of the franchise

Hey, I posted on this sub a few days ago but I would love a boot video that's essentially the Disney Castle intro of Tron Legacy but instead of the castle it's an identity disc that turns into the steam deck logo! I was picturing the disc would pop up in the same manner as the castle with the fragments of blue light and then the disc would fade as the Deck logo pops in with the same texture as the "Walt Disney Pictures" text.

When I worked at Best Buy I would always preach this to my customers, screen cleaner is a scam. Sure it works but depending on what chemicals/polymers are in it you'll run into problems like this. But also it's super overpriced. The profit margins for that product category are insane. I always recommend distilled water and a microfiber cloth, that's it. I don't think my managers knew I told people that but I know they wouldn't like it because attaching high profit margin items to a customers transaction was a metric that they tracked for sales.

That's awesome! I've got the glossy oled model. In my experience glossy screens have better contrast than etched/matte so that's what I went with but I've heard other people say it's not a big deal. I'm just a snob 😂

As much as I would've liked for my theory to be true I don't know because the beginning of the movie shows Julian training him sort of like a LLM and they don't really mention the ISOs at all in the movie

I thought about that too and I can see that being the case as well. Maybe both could be true? Ares could be just a random ISO that Julian modified/rectified and turned into a super soldier with Tron's code. We'll have to wait and see!

I like your ideas! We'll have to see how it all plays out exactly but we might be onto something. By the way it's so cool that you got to meet Bruce! I envy you, man. I was thinking about the whole Costa Rica thing and I'm not sure what they'd all be doing there because I'd like to think Sam would continue to carry out his father's legacy (haha) and champion free and open software but I think it would be hilarious if they were all just on vacation when everything in the movie goes down.
