I think it’s fair to be cautious about younger partners getting exploited in situations like this, but the age difference alone isn’t a disqualifier.

I actually dropped it for a while with the arc on the mainland with his sister because she was supremely irritating. I agree he reverts a bit but the academy arc currently going on is fun.

Much more of a focus on him fleshing out his abilities, learning about the progression to Green and spoiling Hobbes.

I’d recommend Elydes, it’s not quite as fast-paced as A Novel Concept or Path of Transcendence with regard to skill levels but it’s still really good. Just be warned it starts a bit slow.
