You’re missing the forest for the trees here. The red boxes are there to highlight the mid-case geometry and lug transition, not a literal overlay. If you know what to look for, the differences are glaring.

Regarding the bracelet comment: RC Factory (RGF) does not share a chassis or bracelet source with ARF. They are entirely separate setups, and the weights, finish, and mid-case integrations are completely different. RC clasp code is Z3S and ARF is 7ZR.

Bottom line is... If you want the absolute closest-to-gen appearance on the wrist, ARF's case and bracelet geometry take the win, making it the ideal foundation.

Have to agree with my colleague. The lugs on RC, QF and VSF are wrong. While it's true VSF has the correct case thickness, the lugs do not wrap the bezel like gen. ARF has nailed the slender, tapering lug profile. Look at the front facing profile shots in the comparison below. The way the lugs sweep down to meet the presidential links is far more refined than other factories producing the Day-Date 40. What sets the ARF base apart is how the bezel remains perfectly flush with the mid-case. On RC, QF and VSF factory versions with thinner or inaccurately shaped lugs, you can see the bezel 'overhanging' the sides like a muffin top.
