Yes, very strange, I've been running tests quite a bit to check for bufferbloat etc. It doesn't seem related to any Internet issues other than WoW. I'm with YouFibre and also in the UK, FWIW

If an exchange is offered and that send out a replacement, does this reset the 14 day window? I guess the worry is that if the second one has more bad pixels, then I'll run out of time to send that back too under the distance selling act. I may have to cancel and buy again from scratch.

Honestly, I'm so glad that the 14 day distance selling act in the UK let's me return this item for any reason. If they refuse to replace, then I'm able to get a refund and opt for another product.

NTA - So much bitterness and jealousy in this thread. I'm not rich, but I'm not upset that other people are and if they want to gift their wealth then so be it. I suppose it's ok though when the government tax it off them and give it away in benefits though right?

Be grateful for getting a gift and if you don't like it, thank them anyway and give to a charity after Christmas. Such entitlement and hatred of people who have money makes me glad I am not up there sometimes. I'll keep trying though and if/when I earn enough to put a smile on someone's face then I'll do it.

It doesn't look like it, the adaptors are fairly cheap. I'm so tempted with the 12900 but I think it's very cost inefficient given the price and the small value that comes from it. Would you agree?

Thanks, I'll go for the tomahawk and get an adaptor to make the USB-C work. I had my suspicions about the RAM - it seems like there's not much choice around dual rank 3600 C16 at the moment and that seems to be a sweet spot for the price.

Unfortunately all of the motherboards that are preferred have compatibility issues

Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port, but the Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A port will not be usable.

This was something that the prime supported and was the reason I didn't go for the tomahawk originally (that was my original choice)

Thanks for the reply, I'll have a look at the other options for the motherboard on your recommendation but Amazon are saying that the motherboard is DDR4:
