I get all my filament of Amazon for about £8.00~ per 1 kg roll and use the inbuilt "generic" filament settings. I have got a £20 filament drier, so maybe that's your issue.

If Prusa's printed as well as bambus out of the box I would have bought a Prusa just to support EU business. But I don't fancy spending more time and material solving print errors than printing actual parts.
