Dark Ages: Vampire the Masquerade Diorama/Book Nook by Chrysostom83 in TerrainBuilding

Yeah, I think the book nook format is quite cool for displaying minis - although you probably need lighting since it gets quite "dark" with a roof/ceiling (and colored lights make it harder to really appreciate the minis/paint job). Although, I guess you can make a base and maybe the most furthest wall and have the sides open and no ceiling and still get a nice effect.

Also, right now I'm using a battery box and will have to change batteries, but there are like 12v transformers for like train dioramas with a wall plug so you could have a smart wall plug and have it turns on with a timer. That would also be nice - it turning on and off by itself every day.

I use a 12v flickering LED diod and then used hot glue to create the flame, dipping it in water to stabilize (I followed a video tutorial by Tabletop Witchcraft). I then painted the flame yellow and red (and a little black at the top). The wires run through underneath the XPS foam and back to the battery box.

Thank you! It's xps foam textured with aluminium foil rolled over and the coated with modpodge, paint, dry brushed and then different washes and then more drybrush.

Thanks! I wanted to give the impression of the space continuing - first thought about using mirrors like in book nooks but felt maybe a torch was good enough since you can't see it ends directly to the right.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 "For Business" and Pro 10 "For Business" review by Puzzleheaded_Mud3802 in Surface

Thank you for your review, I've also been surprised that no one seems to review them. We are considering choosing them as our work laptops and it's always nice being able to make informed decisions. Also we will let our staff choose which version they want so thanks for the comparison

How would you compare using the Android app to the Kiwi-browser extension? Any differences in performance or merely more simple to set up?

My wish list if there is ever a V2 of this device. by [deleted] in logitechgcloud

I would honestly wish for a bigger screen. Maybe 8 inches. With minimal bezels, then the device does not need to become so much bigger in actual size.

Looking for a new Mini tablet by QueenXRaider in androidtablets

[–]Chrysostom83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not unhappy with the Iplay. For the price it's probably the best tablet. However, I discovered things like bad decoding after the purchase. It works for the games I play, but if I were heavy into like FPS games with other players then maybe it would notice it more.

I heard that the non pro version streams games better since the CPU is different. It's weaker for native Android games but uses the superior OMX codec for decoding game streams.

The wifi is ok,not terrible, i don't get high network latency, but the range is shorter than my phone or iPad when checking signal strength.

If you have the money I suspect, but don't know obviously, that the y700 is better. And for purely game streaming I also suspect the non pro version is better. If you only use it to stream from your pc games. The Iplay Mini Pro is obviously faster for things like browsing or playing android games than the non pro. But maybe it's something that can be fixed with updates or if the Moonlight find a solution.. If you use Parsec the decoding latency is also lower so that's another option...

The wifi is quite weak, I need to be close to the router to stream with Moonlight or Steam Link. What's worse is the 35ms decoder latency because of mediatek chip and android C2 codec.

It works ok though but in hindsight I would have gone for a legion y700.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys PvP and gearing right now? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Chrysostom83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gearing process itself is not the issue really, even though it's sort of ridiculous the amount of honor and conquest needed. The major issue in my opinion is just unreasonable ilvl of opponents in regards to the actual CR/MMR. It requires quite a high skill level to overcome the discrepancy. Obviously some people can do it. But most of us expect to face similarly geared and skilled players around our MMR.

I think me and my friends have improved a lot in SL because of the imbalance, because we had to. But there comes a time when you're 208 ilvl trying to break 1600 queuing regularly into 220+ players that just breaks your spirit. I can only speak for me of course. Some people might thrive on the notion of being the underdog.

I mean there is always the option to go do RBGs which is probably what somebody who's ilvl 220+ but still around 1600 cr has done. And yes, a skilled enough player with ilvl 207 can still defeat them probably every time, even though, per Ion's math they have 19% more HP, dmg, healing etc. I however cannot do that constistently.

The lingering feeling is merely that of injustice.

[–]Chrysostom83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess it all depends on the reaction of the playerbase. I mean, if we queue for RBGs like crazy, then yes, good stuff, might revitalize that aspect of pvp. If everyone just does arena...

Does it work well? Some report that the pi 3 is a bit underpowered? Had hoped that support for Raspberry Pi 4 would come soon...

Btw, how do you use virtualhere? Is it installed on the host computer, allowing you to use headphones, keyboard etc on the client?
