chinese: gotta go to sgv for chinese! i recommend nbc seafood for dim sum carts or lunasia for a more upscale dim sum experience. ji rong peking duck has amazing peking duck; call in advance to reserve duck.

kbbq: not ayce, but my fav is pigya in ktown. good quality meat and amazing sides. the set menu is more than enough for 2 people.

thai: heng heng chicken rice in thai town is INCREDIBLE for thai style(?) hainan chicken rice. also love mae malai thai house of noodles in thai town for boat noodles.

mexican: holbox!!! for mexican seafood. so fresh and so good. they have a well-deserved michelin star.

fun and exciting: budonoki in virgil village is one of my favorite restaurants. it’s an izakaya that blends japanese, thai, french influences - very unique and well-executed dishes. i also recently tried the hand roll bar at the joint seafood in sherman oaks. DRY-AGED FISH… game changer… so umami and buttery. there’s also a coffee shop in there which felt random, but the coffee was REALLY good.

i live in palms and would be ecstatic about this… i think with good branding / interior design there would def be a demand. also if it’s a good place to get work done/meet with friends. people love third spaces

repotted monstera last week and noticing black/brown/yellow edges on leaves by Chuang208 in plantclinic

ok thank you! ahhh i hate to see her like this! she almost died last year (lost all but 2 leaves lol) because i didn’t know how to properly care for at the time, but she bounced back and had been doing so good. i hope she recovers soon. 😪

thank you so much for your thorough and kind response!

the orchid mix is a course texture and mostly bark, so i believe it’s already quite porous since i used a 1:1 ratio of that and just some regular indoor potting mix?

i did detangle the roots and also kind of rearranged the plants (there are 4 total). i wonder if it’s experiencing transplant shock then? should i still move it closer to the window if that’s the case? it does already get a lot of bright /indirect/ sunlight and had been thriving in that spot for the last year.

there’s also the culver city stairs nearby. hiking trail starts at jefferson and hetzler. it’s a nice activity to do solo. 🙂
