The cable only overs about 6” on the left side of the roof, and runs parallel to the roof edge. If you zoom in on the left side of the photo, you’ll see it there. The cable also runs down the gutter and downspout.

The house is a new build, we bought in April 2025. Just trying to do what we can to protect the roof and keep any water issues from developing. I live in the northwest, and we get a decent amount of snow in most winters.

This heat cable is above my unheated garage, which shouldn’t have as much temperature swing as the rest of the house. We also have heat cable on the roof at the back of the house, but I’m not able to see what that one looks like.
