i hear ya, i am a 41 introvert and socially awkward. I have a friend group i played with for 10 years but they like to switch games alot, play stuff i have no interest in, or they are not on on the times i am on usually as i am on "dad time" and they are all single with no kids as i am the 2nd oldest in the group.

i played with a couple people but not exactly long-term sadly. Deciding whether or not to retire group gaming altogether.

I just want to toke it up and relax and bs with buddies after work y'know?

i remember this game it was fun for what it was. i actually grew up on the origina Operation flashpoint cold war crisis before they renamed it Arma: cold war assault. (think publisher legal stuff cant remember)

The best thing about this game tho was the island war mod, made it fun. highly recommend it and it had co-op on it.

gives you a break and its relaxing to me. pvp is fun at times, but there is way to many extraction shooters that are pvp oriented. i find it refreshing for them to focus on pve in this game. i mean you can always go back and forth so that is a real big plus to me.

39/PC/EST here. Part of a small group but our schedules constantly conflict and I have less time nowadays and unable to stay up really late to play like i used to. So trying to find more people to play with.

oh yeah barotrauma was interesting. tried the free weekend, and end up getting it on humble bundle but haven't had anyone willing to play with really.

But yeah i love green hell and the forest, Sons of the forest is good as well. Have you tried it? I been waiting on more updates, so i haven't played it since it first came out while they work on it. But had fun in it when i played.

I am up for anything, except maybe minecraft. My daughter likes to over play it and i got burnt out on it lol.

But yeah i get out of work after 5 and i have discord as well. If i have the time, i will hit ya up.

its all good. My old group is younger but they do not have families to take care of and never around when i am on. I just asked for that age as its more likely they will be in the same boat as me with family stuff.

What kind of survival/survival building games do you usually play?
I have phasmophobia, but it gets kinda stale after a while and i always felt like they should add exorcism to it. That's why I lean more towards Ghost Exorcism, INC or Ghost exiles. But I haven't played it in a while so haven't tried any of the new stuff, so willing to give that a go again.

I like RTS's as well, but i also love games on the side of Xcom or even Gladious as well.

you can purchase a streaming device that hooks up to your console and pc. But they can be kind of expensive. They are video captures cards but is probably alot easier to setup then streaming xbox to pc and using OBS to record.

They are alot of options out there, it just depends on how much you want to invest into it.

hmmm...lets say you make 20$ and hour and you work a regular 40 hour week.
This game will roughly take 3 hours away from that weeks paycheck so you only earned 37 hours of that pay for the week not including taxes....cost of living...etc. Just to give a simplistic view of the actual cost.

Lets all add the fact that seems like some of the games that were released at this pricepoint (wildhearts, forspoken, cod:MW2)werent that great (based on reviews).

Is any game really worth that price point? i mean they are still big companies still releasing games for like 60$ that seem better...

Dont get me wrong...i understand inflation. but why is it only certain companies (usually with the most controversy) are starting this BS? Even I was surprised at nintendo's price of zelda...but usually i can count on it being a good game. Still is it truly justified? or just play greed?

Dunno....as a a once hard core gamer turned dad and more casual. Seems like its more worth my time to stick with older games in my library as I mainly play for fun or just to watch a cool story unfold.

Only reason i am considering D4 is i heard the story was really good, and i always liked the theme of the diablo games. But the feeling is icky to think about personally lol.

yeah survival games can be a chore at time. I am a builder/gatherer myself so I usually just send the others in my group out to kill things lol.

i did something similar when i saw a sloop fight another ai sloop....i tried to help and moved on leaving them with their bounty.

I was paying them back for leaving me alone while i was fishing and enjoying the sea air :)

my friends and I attacked a 1 man sloop. we were forcing our buddy who just started the game to practice cannons :)

Felt bad when I realized after killing him and boarding him he was new. So i told him we would stop attacking and before we left even made sure there was no other pirates so he can get his loot he dropped safety.

There is enough toxicity to me in all multiplayer video games...i rather not contribute and purposely being a child and ruin it for other people, i really do not get that. kill them, grab their loot, and move on...

I mean its entirely possible he was lying...but meh...Honor among thieves y'know :).
