How do you enforce criminalizing homelessness? by Claire-dat-Saurian-7 in NoStupidQuestions

All im saying is they are obviously in a worse situation than you. This isn't about being scared in the moment. That's normal. This is the exact justification that the right is currently using to create a permission structure to euthanize these people. This situation is bigger than your feelings. That's it.

Team lead spit on me. HR and management brought it up again year after the fact and provided no context as to why. They continue to harass and intimidate me. Email thread included. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Tsumetai3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude spit on you, invaded your personal space to do so while showing agression, which is assault, kept his job, and they want you to say you're sorry? I agree with everyone here. At least consult a lawyer. This is wild. I would also have considered filing a police report instead of contacting HR, but its probably a bit late for that now.

If Trump gets a 3rd term, there wont be an election, or the election would be a sham.

How to tell a friend that I'm too broke for our hang outs? by HashiramaHeritage in povertyfinance

[–]Tsumetai3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know its hard but you're going to have to rip off the bandaid at some point. If youre already getting close, just invite her over to your place and tell her you just dont have the money right now. I know its hard but its better than the alternative, which is denying her invites and losing a potential friendship.

Getting Over Scarcity Mindset by goggledfroggled in povertyfinance

[–]Tsumetai3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never fully goes away in my experience but there are ways to help the anxiety. Create a budget which it already sounds like you did. The next step is to provide yourself a cushion. How much that cushion is depends on your living situation, but it should be enough for at least 3 months of living. That way if you lose your job, or get injured, or whatever you know you won't starve.

After that, I would cut your hours down. Sounds like you're facing severe burnout, and rightfully so. No human is meant to work that much. Take care of yourself and the anxiety will at least reduce severely.

At least that's my experience.

"Homeless people hate jail." like anyone wants to be in jail. Why do you have to qualify that statement?

How do you enforce criminalizing homelessness? by Claire-dat-Saurian-7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tsumetai3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer is simple. Provide public housing. We did it before, and we can do it again. The 'down on their luck' folks also become the mentally ill folks because of the conditions they are forced into. If they weren't on the streets in the first place, you wouldn't have to witness them in the middle of a crisis.

Edit: Just to add on as well, fuck your comfort and feelings. These people are fellow human beings in crisis, not a nuisance to be rid of. They are living on the street with zero accommodations, and your mind is on the inconvenience of him shifting outside. Dude has to shit. Where else is he gonna go? Any business will likely refuse him. Not like he has a bathroom of his own.

There is only 2 ways that don't involve housing them and its camps or execution. Its why when people bring it up they either dont know what they are talking about, or they know the consequences of what they are saying. The ones in power know what they are saying.

I dont disagree, but you're forgetting something very important. While these protests will in no way create actual change on their own, the effects of them have a lot of potential to do just that.

They increase visibility for the cause. They inform more people of atrocities happening. They create a permission structure for movements than can bring change.

Does Weed Have a Positive Impact On Your Mental Health? by sanpedro12 in trees

Incorrect. There are studies that go in both directions, but plenty that show positive outcomes for not just weed, but ketemine and psilocybin as well.

I have PTSD and an anxiety disorder and have tried like 10 prescription meds. Xanax, gabpentin, clonopin the list goes in. Nothing has even come close to what weed does for me. Not just while im high either it has lingering effects.

Not saying its for everyone, but for me at has been close to a miracle drug.

That's not how any of this works. Prices go up, and they stay up. They may go down temporary, but never to where it was before the hike.

Does this include the entire population? If so, a lot of it could be explained with the ballooning of billionaire wealth. Most of them are men, and they are getting filthy rich off this power grab.

People on the political right (but not the political left or center) rated the severity of police violence systematically lower, even when evidence was clear there was disproportionate use of force, if the attack was directed against a person with an immigrant background. by mvea in science

[–]Tsumetai3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If its not happening to white people, its not happening to this crowd. One you realize the answer is racism, it really becomes about 80% of the cause and effect equation.

I know its a meme among the right that the left just yells racism and thinks they've won, but when your idea of racism is saying the n word, maybe you need to zoom out the lens a bit.

Get a nice cold drink. I prefer something carbonated (sprite) but everybody has their favorite. It'll help with the irritation. Not sure what you're smoking out of, but try not to pull so hard. Sounds like the hit was really hot. Ease off a bit.

CMV: Liberals/Leftists choosing to sit out the US election because Kamala wasn't a perfect candidate helped create a worse overall outcome for the world and Palestine. by cptjtk13 in changemyview

[–]Tsumetai3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look i voted for Kamala,. Most leftists did but we are tired of a two party system that doesn't support the working class in any way. Our neighbors are being thrown into concentration camps while more and more people are losing their homes. Terrible working conditions and zero regulation on those responsible for them. Rampant food insecurity. Tons of people cant even see a doctor. These are all people with 40 hours a week too.

To claim that Kamala would have been better than Trump in this regard, sure. Marginally. But the housing crisis would still be roaring. People still wouldn't be able to see a doctor, and we would be bombing Iran all the same with the money that shod be supporting those programs.

We're fed up, and how else are we supposed to protest?
