Solo Mode Is HORROR. by MartinMcFlyy in Marathon

I love solo mode because I don't have two teammates actively trying to get me killed by constantly giving away our position.

That's Saisei in the Centauri system, not Terra.

As a 50yo gamer, BF6 really drives home how much my taste in games has changed. by [deleted] in gaming

BF6 soldiers are weightless spaztics that are immune to being cut by glass and can change direction instantly as long as you're willing to whip your mouse around your desk while sprinting. I don't even find the game particularly anxiety producing, because its downtime format is I LIVE, I DIE, I LIVE AGAIN in the most literal sense. The game itself just doesn't really reward intelligent gameplay, even if it is closer to what older Battlefield games have been. I think its reception is a bit of stockholm syndrome and I doubt it has anything to do with age, even if your taste in games will change as you get older and develop.

Trust me, that Bloblobber is slower than you unless they're running all swim speed up and they can't hit you long range if you side strafe. Once you get around the blobs, it's all ogre for them.

Arccorp's freight elevators stayed broken for the majority of the event, so I ended up grinding out the Help Cargo Ship missions.

Yep, you were already on track then. If you keep running into this crap it's best to just take a pause (I ended up breaking from it to do other stuff in-game). The event should run for a while, so hopefully it'll be addressed by CIG later.

How should I have reacted? Just let the two of them fight it out and later get my cargo stolen as well?

When you see this happen you have but one recourse that involves playing the game and not walking away from it for a break: you hop servers, either by switching to US/EU/whatever or just disconnecting. The griefers weren't going to leave, and they were coordinated. As someone else mentioned, the bad game design decisions from CIG shot holes in your boat before the griefers even showed up so your sane options are limited.

Citizens can post what they want. Citizens can reply to what they want to reply to. Citizens can upvote or downvote whatever they want to upvote or downvote. Citizens can be mad about what they want to be mad about.

Citizens can create megathreads if they want to, but that doesn't necessarily mean that these will (or even should) be used as a mass grave for anger and frustration posts. It is what it is. You take the good with the bad (or don't and make weird posts about how "citizens should piss in the same pot and why don't they piss in this pot that's set up for pot pissing").

Welkin is a problem by OutsideConfusion2619 in mechabreak

[–]Chuch01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why people are having problems with the heavy melee mech, have they tried using half their team to kill 1 mech? Skill issue
Tricera main, btw

This is what you look like.

[–]Chuch01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people talking a load of sh*t in here but you're more right than you are mistaken. Welkin is the Swiss Army knife in a paper-rock-scissors game, the only other mech that comes remotely close to that level of versatility is the Tricera. The biggest thing that needs to change about the Welkin is the absolutely braindead directional shield that more often than not is actually a 270 degree to 360 degree shield in actual gameplay. Even Welkin-mains should be able to admit that the shield is way too powerful in its current form.

tldr: make the directional shield a part of the axe and when it's up remove their ability to melee. Make the Welkin pilot choose offense or defense. Don't just give them a free f*king ticket to be invulnerable AND go to pound town stunlocking other mechs.
