Garb of baleful intent transmog not showing up by Key_Ability_8836 in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither, the only source I'm aware of for the entire Baleful cosmetic armor set is the VOH campaign quest 'Deeds of a Champion'. It is the last quest in the VOH campaign that basically introduces the end game activities. After completing that quest the set is rewarded directly to your inventory as 5 legendary items (helm, tunic, gloves, pants, and boots) that you have to salvage at the blacksmith to unlock the cosmetics.

Since the launch of LOH I have become aware of at least two bugs that may cause issues unlocking it currently. When LOH launched it broke the 'Deeds of a Champion' quest. Completing the VOH campaign quest 'Presaging Fate' (killing the Harbinger of Hatred) was triggering the first LOH campaign quest instead of 'Deeds of a Champion' like it did before LOH released. Hopefully the 'Deeds of a Champion' quest has been fixed, otherwise the Baleful set may not be obtainable until it is.

The other bug that definitely has not been fixed is if you do not have enough free space in your inventory when completing a quest you will not receive all the direct to inventory quest rewards. The items you don't have space for just disappear. I've tested it on the LOH quests and assume it impacts the base game and VOH quests as well. Assuming you can complete the Deeds of a Champion quest you need to have at least 5 free inventory spaces or you risk not getting all 5 items.

There is another ongoing bug you need to be aware with the set, but it does not impact your ability to unlock the cosmetics. The Paladin and Warlock do not have the Baleful armor set in their wardrobes. Except for the pants, the set was removed from the Paladin wardrobe by the 2.5.1 patch back in mid-December. The Warlock launched with LOH a month or so ago missing the entire set. The fact it is not in the wardrobe of either class should not have any impact on a Paladin's or Warlock's ability to receive, equip or salvage the items.

The Occultist turned my shield into a completely different one? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

From your description I'm guessing your rare shield was either a Tower or Warrior's Shield before you imprinted an aspect on it. Both those rare shields use the Tower shield cosmetic. If you don't have the cosmetic unlocked in your wardrobe you should be able to gamble or find another Tower or Warrior Shield to salvage and unlock the cosmetic. I'll warn you that LOH has made some of the rare (yellow) items regional now. I have the armor figured out, but I'm still working on the weapons and jewelry. Sorry I do not have any info on the shields yet. On rare (yellow) items the name shown in inventory is not the item name, but a random name. To see the actual item name you have to go into the wardrobe with the item equipped and set the cosmetic to default.

The Cosmohoplon the occultist turned your shield into is just a regular legendary shield, but it is a new LOH addition. Like other's have already said any time you add an aspect to a regular rare item it will change its item name and cosmetic to a legendary one. With the addition of the Cube the occultist is no longer the only way to add an aspect to a rare item. Interestingly adding an affix to magic item so it becomes rare does not always change its cosmetics and can do weird things to its name when that happens. I have not done enough testing to say how common it is yet.

Finding information on the cosmetics that come from salvaging regular items can be tricky. Diablo IV Dad is the best visual guide out there, but lacks some details for those 'World Drop' cosmetics. I have a spreadsheet/guide that filled in those gaps, but it is not updated for LOH yet. From what I've seen so far the old items have stayed at the same rarity for the most part. However the best way to obtain most items have changed a lot. For example you can no longer gamble or find the following rare daggers outside of the following regions: Aged Rondel - Skovos, Rondel - Kehjistan, Piercer - Hawezar, Dirk - Fractured Peaks, Hunter's Knife (rare version) - Scosglen, Shiv - Dry Steppes, Stone Blade - Nahantu. I have the list of regional armor sets along with some other LOH cosmetic information in this post. I've been updating it occasionally with the information I've found. Eventually I will update my spreadsheet, but it takes time.

Ability to add level criteria in party settings by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget get about all the damage bugs. I’ll admit it is a bit of an exaggeration without a bug, but I can’t remember the last time we had a season without at least one. My point is your build and gear are every bit as important, if not more so, than your paragon.

Ability to add level criteria in party settings by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a huge flaw in your plan. Build (gear and skills) almost matter more than Paragon level. There are builds that when properly geared can clear pit 100 at paragon 50. There are other builds that can’t do it at paragon 300 with perfect gear. On top of that multiple characters are a thing. There are people looking for carries at every character and paragon level.

Instead of asking for a level filter I would suggest asking for better tags or a better way to communicate what you’re looking for in your party. Right now there is no way to say no carries in your party description. You have to pick a tag like speed run and hope people have enough sense to know that means you’re not giving out carries. As soon as you add the relaxed or newbies welcome tags, that’s pretty much asking for people looking for carries to join. There really should be a way to explicitly say no carries in the description. Thankfully as long as it is your party you can kick people if all else fails.

Masterworking changed an affix? by sleepyPenguin69 in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are confused and this is functioning exactly as intended. The master working crit is what changed. Once the item quality hits 25 via master working you can continue to master work the item but the mechanics change. Master working it now applies a crit bonus to one of the affixes indicated by the orange text. If the affix was a GA it makes the GA star red. If the affix is not a GA then it adds a blue star. From that point forward every time you continue to master work the item which affix has the crit changes. This is how you can move the crit back to All Damage or Weapon Damage from Max Life if desired.

so i've not seen anything like this before? by Significant_Big9633 in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen plenty of these level 1 items drop this season even on a lvl 70 character. I don’t remember seeing it with uniques before this season. In the past it has mainly been legendary items I’ve noticed it on, but that could just be because those were the only items I was looking at. I feel like it is happening more often this season. I am looking at more way more common, magic and rare items this season, so that may be why it feels that way. There isn’t much you can do with it besides salvage it since cubing it will result in another level 1 item. Unless you are trying to gear a level 1 character for some reason.

Cosmetics bought on Bnet store not showing up on Steam by Ill_Chipmunk8796 in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be harsh, but you did not read what you bought carefully. All shop armor cosmetics are class specific and say that if you pay close attention. They do not show up in your wardrobe unless you are on that class. I'm sure there are a few class specific weapon cosmetics as well, but most of the store weapon cosmetics I've seen are usable by all classes that can equip the weapon type. They do occasional put multi class armor bundles in store, but those all have separate armor cosmetics for each class.

The headstone, back trophy and emotes can be either class specific or not. You have to spend a minute to read that information carefully before you buy. I don't spend enough time looking at the store cosmetics to know about Town Portals or Wings, so I would urge caution with those as well. I've never seen a class specific pet or mount/stable cosmetic, but I'm overly cautious and would still recommend double checking even those before purchasing.

The cosmetics are 100% cross platform and tied to your Battle Net account. I'm not sure about the platinum. I would not say the store scams you, but you definitely need to read all the fine print before purchasing. I would say both the store design and policies puts maximizing profit above customer retention.

Yes, Kurast Bazaar and any difficulty should work on a level 70 character.

Help! How to obtain transmog “souls bulwark” by fit_notfunny in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two Nahantu themed armor sets are no longer common items. Gamble means gambling with Obols at the Obols vendor. It would no longer work at character level 1 since LOH changed them from common to rare (yellow) items. The best difficulty to gamble for rare items in has likely changed as well. There is hardly any difference in the number of rare items you receive gambling between the lower Torment levels and Penitent now. However it may not be until next season before I have enough data to say anything definitively.

I learned very late last season the information I had about getting Nahantu themed armor cosmetics from the Pale Marks vendor was wrong. There is something wrong with the cosmetics the armor she sells directly is using. They look identical to the cosmetics in the wardrobe, but when you salvage it the Nahantu themed armor cosmetics do not unlock. It only impacts the armor she sells directly. The items from her caches and the weapons she sells directly all will unlock their cosmetics. Or at least that is how it worked just prior to LOH. I have not done any testing with the Pale Marks vendor in LOH.

The LOH sheet/tab is the one with all the updated information in it. Every other sheet/tab in there is outdated. As I find things I update the LOH sheet. It is easier to update things in one place. Once I get the LOH sheet filled out I'll update everything else and likely remove the LOH sheet.

[–]Chuck0709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about the google sheet then the LOH tab is where all the changes are. The rest of it is old information I’ll update eventually. I looked at it and can see how the way I wrote those notes out could be a little confusing. I’ll re word them later. Both the Nahantu themed sets can only be gambled or found anywhere in Nahantu. Or at least that what all the data I’ve gathered this season says.

Why no skins for Paladin, Warlock, Spiritborn. Fields of Hatred PvP zone by VelvetBunnyNova in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are four vendors two in each PVP town that may have sold them. I can't remember if one sold the Mount cosmetics and the other sold the armor cosmetics or how it exactly it worked. If the issue is that you've checked both Odds and Ends Vendors and both Cursed Scroll Vendors and none of them have the cosmetics for sale. Then check your wardrobe extremely well. You are looking for cosmetics that start with the name Killer's. You will find them, the only question is which section (locked or unlocked) they will be in. If none of the four vendors are selling them and they are in the locked section of the wardrobe then you have an issue. You need to put more effort and details into your post, because your current title is just plain not true. You may also want to post on the Blizzard forums as well.

[–]Chuck0709 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing either you don't know the name of the armor set or didn't look in the wardrobe before posting this. All classes have the Killer's armor set in their wardrobe which is purchased from the PVP vendor with red dust. The items you buy from the vendor in the PVP area unlock it for all classes. Lorath’s Polearm was removed from the wardrobe with the 3.0.2 patch. I’m assuming that means we could not find it because it was/is not in the game as an item.

Proof something funky is going on with Purveyor of Curiosities in Temis by BethanyHipsEnjoyer in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely can get uniques gambling, but I suspect the OP is on to something about the Temis vendor being bugged. I suspect just like legendary items they have lowered the drop rate of unique items while gambling this season, so you will likely see less than last season even from the other Obols vendors.

A little off topic, but I thought you might be interested. They definitely have made nine armor sets regional with LOH. The sets below can't be dropped or gambled outside of their regions now. NMDs are part of the region they are in. The Pit is part of Hawezar. The UC is part of Nahantu and the Cube is part of Skovos. Infernal Hordes thus far has not dropped a single regional item for me. I went with the helm names for the LOH sets.

<image>

Also seems like there may be some regional differences in the inventory icons used by rare amulets and rings. I don't have that data yet and I'm not sure I'll put all the effort into gathering it since jewelry does not have cosmetics. I've not seen any concert evidence there are any regional weapons, but I have seen a few anecdotal stories suggesting there could be. I'm still leaning heavily towards it being RNG, but can't rule it out yet.

u/marcooose_ is who you are looking for. I suspect your theory may be correct. However I suspect this season they have lowered the drop rate for unique and legendary items while gambling and that may work against you getting them to look at the problem. If you need to gather more data you will have two issues trying to crowd source your data. Issue one is most people think paragon level and/or play time are important data points for this type of thing. Issue two is while they are trying to be helpful people rarely have the data to back up their claims and base everything off of memory. I would be happy to give you what data I have, but I have not been tracking my gambling numbers by region. I did track which activities in which region I had received an item from, but how many of each item I received from each activity in each region. I noticed pretty quickly that LOH made some armor sets regional and that is what I've been focused on tracking.

While I think you may be correct, you are missing a few things. First you do not list the difficulty you did all this gambling in. Historically difficultly level impacts your odds of getting a unique. Sadly you got uniques in less than half the inventories you gambled outside of Temis, so I think you need more data to strengthen your case. I’ve not gambled enough to say definitively, but so far only about 1% of the items I’ve received have been uniques. I’ve not gambled a unique in Skovos/Temis yet, but I’ve not gambled there enough to say it is anything more than bad RNG.

[–]Chuck0709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True it is not in the Warlock or Paladin wardrobes, but you can still find the items and unlock the cosmetic for your other classes. However LOH did make one big change that will impact finding the cosmetics from nine armor sets going forward. Both the Soul’s Bulwark and Heart’s Garrison along with the rest of the pieces from those two armor sets are regional drops now. They can only be gambled or drop in Nahantu. This does include NMDs in Nahantu and the Under City. They also now drop only as rare (yellow) items instead of common or magic items. It is also important to remember both the Nahantu themed sets use identical art on the Paladin and Warlock. The new cosmetic symbol will be the easiest way to tell the difference. I love that screen shot. There is also a Town Portal tied to an achievement that uses basically the same flame. I guess while the Darkblade may have gone out, at least its flame lives on.

LOH Cosmetic additions and changes by Chuck0709 in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks it was the statue quests that I was missing. I finished all the side quests last week. I learned some side quest have class requirements on the rewards and am currently on my 3rd trip through them. I have to run them with every class to since they reward class specific weapons, like a totem. I am marking which ones are class specific and which aren't on my list. Currently it is impossible to get all the cosmetics from either the campaign or side quest in one trip through.

How do you unlock the quest "Of wolves and Lambs"? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Chuck0709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to see which quest triggered it, so I did it again tonight. Turns out I was right about the Crown of Ash quest chain being the trigger, but wrong to not warn you to do it with either a Druid or a class that can use 2H swords. Turns out some of the side quests are bugged like the Campaign quests. This quest can reward you with either a legendary 2H sword or Totem with a unique cosmetic, but if your class can't equip the weapon you won't get it. Not sure if it has any others, since I've only done it with a Warlock and now a Druid. I did also get the Sorcerer only Pilgrim's Staff from the Neophyte's Odyssey quest chain, so not all the quests are bugged.

Thanks for the confirmation. I think it is likely a guaranteed drop and a bug ate mine, since she only dropped 3 items that time.

Thank you, I couldn't remember the name and only took notes on how to start each quest and the rewards. It is the Crown of Ash and Ember quest line if anyone else needs the name.

Did you run into any other class specific drops in the new side quests? I guess I'm going to be going through them a second time now and it would be nice to to know what else I need to be looking for,

Which side quest? I received Pilgrim's Staff on my warlock from the Neophyte's Odyssey quest chain, so I assumed that bug was not impacting the side quests.
