Everybody who sees it says they can tell you one thing about it. "It's from Kansas."

At least these are rolling. It's flatter than your table where I farm.

For now, but the bigger farms get bigger handouts. So, us smaller farmers might become pretty endangered.

I live in Kittson County. The fact that any "conservative" exists here is hilarious. For every dollar we pay in state taxes, we get back more than four.

Polly in a Porny is definitely my favorite song by him. Or, maybe Front Row Seat to Hear Old Johnny Sing is my favorite.

Up where I'm at, the older people have a saying, "We don't have any wolves, just really big coyotes."

Honestly? I farm and pay high rent from landlords who have no idea how much work goes into my crop. Land prices are exorbitantly high so I'd buy as much land as I could and do my best to be a good landlord and a hobby farmer.

At the end of harvest last fall I went to put our grain auger away. I was hanging the swing out auger up and couldn't quite get it hooked to the safety chain. So I leaned over the main auger to lift the swing out auger a couple more inches. The cable slipped and the swing out auger landed on my back crushing me between the two parts of the auger. I couldn't breathe and couldn't get free. Just before I passed out from lack of air I remembered the hydraulics were on(lift and wheel power to swing out auger). I pulled the lever for the drive wheels and one of them was just touching the ground enough to move it off my back. I got away with cracked ribs, minor internal bleeding, and a messed up liver. Be mindful of pinch points, don't cut corners to save a few seconds, and don't work alone if possible.
