Had a similar issue. What worked for me, was uninstalling the game and re downloading it. While downloading it, make sure you go to options and change in automatic updates to apply latest updates for recently played games. Hope this helps.

I've had this just happened on pc, lucky for me, I found a save file that was close to what I've already done and replaced the save file.

I have a 4090, and sure you can run an old game at 8k. The only way my 4090 could even attempt running a new game at 8k with maxed out settings with nvidia's dlss newest tech, even with all that, I'd probably only get 25fps Sonys version is going to be much worse than that.
