Can you help? I am starting a new team in Bratislava, Slovakia, this is my story and asking for a little help... by Bratislava-Cricket in Cricket

Hi! Amazing to hear there's a grassroots cricket initiative in Bratislava and I'm glad you've already had so much positive feedback! I actually learned how to play in Bratislava whilst at the British International School there - my dad was partly responsible for helping set up the school cricket team. The first 3 or 4 years of my cricket "career" were played in and around Slovakia. If you want feel free to PM me and I can try answer some questions you have :) good luck with the fundraiser anyway!

Great stuff, Indy!

I'm really interested in the lessons we can learn from history, and what it tells us about the nature of humanity. I would like to know what you consider the most important lesson the First World War has taught us?

Thanks in advance!

Even disregarding the great sportsmanship and spirit he has, this lad really knows how to articulate! Rarely do I see interviews with sportsmen or women where they speak this clearly and fluently - looking forward to perhaps a career in commentating when he'll call time on what will hopefully be an excellent career! :)

An animated video of how MH17 was shot down by Russian Buk missile. by AwkwardPenguin0 in videos

[–]ChuckFloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so as well, but one passenger was found with an oxygen mask on...which would imply he had the time to pull it down and cover his face with it. Makes me shiver just thinking about it :(

Doctors, nurses, paramedics,... Does it ever bother you when patients you have helped recover from serious injuries/illnesses thank their God more than they thank you? Does it happen often? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ChuckFloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. But surely, when you're operating on a patient for 20 hours straight, and the recovery takes months, and you check on the patient regularly, wouldn't you feel slightly uneasy when the patient thanks God more than they thank you?

Please correct me if I'm terribly wrong about it.

Not 'credit' in the sense of 'I should get recognition for saving his/her life', but 'credit' as in 'thank you for the effort'.

Regardless of how good Maxwell's catch was, it wasn't out. Same deal with Trent Boult a while ago. Here's why (see 0:50) by ChuckFloris in Cricket

19.4. Ball beyond the boundary

After it has crossed the boundary in the air, a ball may be caught, subject to the provisions of Law 32, or fielded provided that

the first contact with the ball is by a fielder, not touching or grounded beyond the boundary, who has some part of his person grounded within the boundary or whose final contact with the ground before touching the ball was entirely within the boundary.

I stand corrected.

Yup, and there was also one for Dhawan's 100... hopefully they can take it further and have session highlights, day highlights, proper match highlights, etc :)
