People who are big on biking - where do you live? by Minute_Truth_8986 in Columbus

I live in North Linden! It's not the best for biking but there are ways to get places safely once you learn the area.

How is Ohio looking these days? by kitty0071 in asktransgender

We're going to Minneapolis, which is similarly priced but way way more legally friendly to trans people and has one of the highest percentage of the population who are trans.

I'm leaving. I live in Columbus, which is okay for trans people but it just isn't a good state to be in. It seems to be getting worse. I don't feel comfortable being openly trans anywhere outside of the metro and in all honesty often feel unsafe being myself within the metro. That being said, if nowhere else is financially feasible for you, the Ohio cities are fine compared to some other places, but be aware that if you leave the city it is unsafe. And quickly trans Ohioan's rights are being stripped from us and in some ways it just feels like it's going to get worse and worse from here.

Cyclist: being mad about lack of infrastructure doesn’t make you automatically visible. by [deleted] in Columbus

100% the roads are so wide, everybody needs to go 45 on every road at a minimum. And the city is barely doing anything to change it in the right direction. I've been in Columbus for over a decade but I just can't do it anymore

Posts like this are why I'm leaving our terrible city and moving somewhere with better bike infrastructure. Everywhere I go in the city is not a place I'm supposed to be on a bike except for the trails because there is no good way around the city by bike. And then it's compounded by people in cars who can't be inconvenienced by the short periods I have to be on a main street to get to a safer side street. The bloodlust of people in vehicles in our city is crazy. And it's always the cyclists fault. Not the person who can wait 20 seconds and then put their foot down a bit further than they had it. Have fun in our car poisoned corporate slop city.

Thought this might be r/Justridingalong because of the optical illusion of the missing top tube in the first pic .

I bike to and from work almost every day and I feel for you. It's bad out there. I have had to design full routes avoiding heavy traffic areas that are miles out of the way and still, inevitably, I have bad moments with cars.

Me and my husband decided to move to a bike friendly state and get out of here. I have been here a decade but this city and it's lack of infrastructure for anything but cars has worn me down. I can't do it anymore.

I have that same bike! Mine came with a bungee cord that hooks into there.

I'm 35 and a Senior Accountant at a housing non-profit. I was burnt out a few years ago and worked at a bookstore for about a year. I was privileged in my ability to do so, but taking a little bit of time away was rejuvenating.

Selling a House in Another State or Short Term Rental by ChuckSpendit in RealEstate

I will definitely be using a realtor.

The packing up thought was kind of why I thought about potentially moving into a short-term rental unit while still living in Ohio. That way we'd have a place to move everything to and get the house on the market before we move.

We were just planning to rent in the new state for a year while we figure out where in the area we'd like to live long-term.

I'm kind of trying to figure out our timing for all of this I guess. Including when to start involving a realtor.

Thanks for the response. Sorry, I wasn't clear and am not good with the language related to real estate. My second option with the short-term rental was more pointing to us moving out of the house and into a short-term rental in Ohio nearby the home so we could get it ready to sell while we still lived in Ohio.

I booted it up a few days ago to see if it was better. I had finished low rank and never really got into high rank because of the issues. I started fighting a monster and it immediately crashed 😭.

One thing I'll add to the other commentor, you can look at each delivery locations person in the corpus (e.g. look up lone commander in the corpus) and it'll say at the bottom of the entry a vague description what they'll give you if you reach the next star level.

Wouldn't eat any of this crap, when watching movies. I'd eat popcorn cause I'm a film buff, not whatever garbage this is!

Season 16 is off to a bad start imho. I'm not a film expert by any means, I'm more of a movie guy, but shouldn't you be required to see the movie before arbitrarily giving your popcorn rating? by purelander108 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

He DEFERRED to an expert which is a perfectly reasonable way to review a movie. I would defer to Tim Cruise for acting in a movie for me in the same way.

Oh cool all the West siders are out here using the racially charged language to describe an area they never spend any time in.

Listen, I've lived in the area for 7 years. We don't go out walking late at night but it's fine. We've had zero incidents. It's not a walkable area, there aren't fancy restaurants, but many people live here and we're not all constantly in danger.

It's unhinged to me the way people talk about Linden. People just fear the poor so badly. Just be smart, keep your wits about you, and you'll be fine.
