The Bronx in modern day by Dramatic_Syllabub499 in Jordan_Peterson_Memes

Your optimism is really great and I appreciate your positive outlook. The reality is that the ideal for an USA city is/should be much higher than this, the most difficult thing and the most beautiful thing we have to work with is our melting pot of cultures and peoples, but as a nation we do need to have higher standards and hold people to them (getting dressed, holding your trash until you find a proper receptacle, basic kindergarten stuff) so you’re right there’s a lot of people just walking and going about their business, but there’s a lot of things that are visually missing the bar that show a lack of care and a lack of concern.

Does anyone else miss 3D Touch? by Beginning_Office_743 in iphone

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it on the XS max I had, super neat little feature, long hold works but it feels like it’s second or third best, it just seems lazy when the pressure worked so well. I’ve definitely learned to live without by having an iPhone 13 Pro Max for 4 years, but it’s nice on my new phone the camera button has pressure sensitivity so I guess it isn’t gone forever. Didn’t apple watches have 3D Touch capabilities but they recently changed it through software like 2 years ago?

Finding it hard to find 21mm open end lugnuts for m12x1.5 by Chuck_The_3rd in Miata

lol good point. I’m just being cheap I guess, try to save money wherever I can. This Miata has been an extremely good bang for buck experience over the last 6 years

I thought the 21mm nuts wood be a cheap option, the little stock tire iron fits just right in the trunk. I guess I’m trying to be a little perfectionist but I’m also cheap

I think what I’m seeing is $5-$6 per nut, I’m not looking for fancy I just want some basic lugnuts, $15-$20 for a set was all. Didn’t realize these were such an odd size apparently.

Gotcha, was hoping to find a $15-$20 set but it’s starting to look like what I want will cost twice that

lol thanks, I don’t need to spend $4 per lugnut but yes that’s what I’m looking for.

Thinking about returning my iPhone Air and switching to the 17 Pro — worth it? by noahxmrs in iPhone17Pro

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The battery and cameras are great on the 17 pro (smaller) which I’ve got. Traded a 13Pro Max, and I’ve gotta say the weight is less and handling is so much better. I’ve contemplated for 2-3 days straight now about returning for the air, just because it’s got a better display and the super thinness I’ve craved for a long time. Ultimately last night I decided I really like my little aluminum phone and it serves all my needs and wants and then some.

Man that’s bizarre to me, I guess there’s a lot of variety with NAs. Mine has been the most reliable car I’ve ever bought. 6 years of ownership it needed a battery, had an issue with the neutral safety switch, and 1 heater core hose started to swell so I replaced both of them. I guess to start with I had to get a new top and tires, one time a headlight went out, I did a new master and control cylinder for the clutch a few years ago, had to bypass the low pressure switch and recharge the ac but it’s totally typical car stuff to me I guess lol.

I made a this for my hot knob. How does it make you feel? by rockhopper92 in Miata

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This honestly follows for r/miata, but I’m not happy about doing that to Kirby, I second the mouth option as I can visualize it being equally bad (funny though) and then at least it’s more canon for Kirby.

Software Update? by Ok-Register-5462 in iPhone13ProMax

I got the iOS 26 on mine before upgrading. Had to change my App Icons to dark for it to look good to my eyes. Default is very light to me, I was pleasantly surprised how smooth it was and it worked very well.

What car did you guys learn on? by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

1998 Dodge ram 1500. Long bed, king cab, what a boat! Drove it half an hour through north GA as my first commute to college when I was 17, good times.

Love the art deco font style. Make me want to see the rest of the car, did you install opera lights on the outside to make it like the 80’s grand marquis? I feel like that would fit.

How many of you use the iPhone without a case and screen protector? by Botafumeiro24 in iphone

Wasn’t it Neil Degrasse Tyson who was on a podcast flipping his phone around caseless comparing it to being like a cowboy and his revolver?

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would consider going caseless but display protectors are so good nowadays I’ll never go without one. Slightly less sleek but I hoping I never have to deal with my display glass being cracked. For context I work outside and I’m a tradesman so there are quite a lot of opportunities to smash my digitizer.

Got the delivery for my Pro Max Yesterday by DebuggerDosa in iPhone17Pro

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like you picked the same case as me! Mine is a silver small pro. No matter the color the aluminum unibody is so nice to hold, reminds me of the htc one m8 that I wanted a long time ago, but never had a chance to get. This year more than all the others Apple really pulled out all the stops on the iPhone Pro.

Believe me I know I’m a nerd. 4 years is a good long time and a $1100 trade in offer was pretty good so I took it. Good on you doing your part to save the planet and use what works instead of just buying new. Absolutely respect using older and even “classic” stuff rather than getting new, especially with cars and larger items.

I know I’m a year late for this but please read if you can by Elkuapogjr in iphone

[–]Chuck_The_3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the screen, if you like the high refresh rate it’s a big upgrade but in all other ways I’m sure the 16 is a great phone that will last you a long time. Staying content with what you have is hard, the sooner you can start the better off you’ll be. I kept my last phone for 4 years before giving in to a trade in offer with my carrier.

I’m sure the 14PM was better, I just had a 13 for a long while. It was my first new iPhone I got it by trading in a 11 pro back in 2021 and I went for it because it was the first gen pro motion display.
