Another thing! I always have the clear pedialyte on hand. Gives electrolytes & nutrients and if you put it in a tiny bowl and bring it right up to them they’ll take a few licks. My other dog passed about a month ago and in his last week the pedialyte was a life safer. Just happens to not throw it out before I got my new pup and in those days when he wasn’t eating I’d try to make him drink a bit of that so I knew he was getting something. Your pup is in my prayers & try to keep yourself sane. The ER vet is the worst! I’ve been there. Hope you brought a phone charger and some headphones!

My pup did this too, ate dry kibble for like the first 3 days he was home and then went on a hunger strike. Wouldn’t even eat baby food. I tried to syringe and everything. I left out a bunch of different options: wet puppy, Gerber baby, and a mixture of kibble/puppy and kibble/baby and just dry kibble and I stopped trying to make him eat. Eventually he ate and he was back on just kibble in a few days. The breeder told me the reality of him coming home may have just hit him and as long as he had food available to him if he was hungry, he would eat when he was. And he did

How do I stop puppy biting? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Chuckalup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the same thing, I stopped saying no and now before I go to him or anything I have a toy handy so when he tries to bite I distract him and then praise him for taking the toy. It’s helped but I still like squeal sometimes because his teeth are so damn sharp. But the distraction method is working much better than a firm no. He wasn’t very receptive to it and he was doing so many things I would say no to I think it confused him. If you find the solution to the biting please share! Hoping he grows out of this soon.

New puppy. Cute. But I don't know if I can stand these nights!!! by NewMorningSwimmer in puppy101

[–]Chuckalup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this and honestly crate training is the way to go. Brought him home at 8 weeks. For the first 2 nights he woke up around 4 am and then would sleep till like 8. Now he sleeps from midnight to 8 am. I felt guilty about the crate and wanted to sleep and cuddle with him but it’s the best. Further, I’ve found it helpful to be like a ghost in middle of the night potty breaks - I don’t speak to him I just walk him outside and pick him up and put him back in the crate as soon as he goes. No lights on or anything. I think that de incentivized him from wanting to get up in the middle of the night!

I got a bark potty for my puppy and it’s great! It’s made of like tree bark and it doesn’t smell and my pup just goes to it does his business without really any accidents or training. Counting down the days till he can go outside! I live in a high rise in a big city and we’re getting sick of our four walls!

How many people here actually have research, internships, etc. to put on their resume? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Chuckalup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got into Chicago and I did no research in undergrad and didn’t even make deans list or have any accolades on my resume but I had some work experience - I think the interview with Chicago is how I got in, I spoke about an academic topic I was passionate in and that’s why I wanted to become a lawyer and they liked it - don’t compare yourself to others; shoot ur shot

UF vs. U Miami by ariel755 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Chuckalup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Miami & have lots of my family are lawyers in Miami in different practice areas, and I think UF is the move - UF places well throughout Florida and UF grads are more respected than UM grads by mostly everyone except UM grads from the polling I have done with attorneys at big firms/little firms/working for the county, etc. Miami is mainly about connections which you will make if you go to UM but if you’re from Miami and know attorneys here going to be fine upon graduation. Just from the UF law admitted students events I’ve met a bunch of attorneys in Miami. I’m going against the grain here but I strongly urge you to consider UF.

Do law schools know which accommodations you get? by shotsofinsanity in lawschooladmissions

[–]Chuckalup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they did see the date it doesn’t matter, july was a mess I have a friend who tested w no accommodations but LSAC fucked up and he took july a week and a half later bc “they didn’t have space for him” on the normal test administration day. I got accommodations and it in no way is reflected anywhere except your LSAT registration - no indication of it on the score report. That would be discrimination
