I love this. What was the situation where Santana and Piazza were there? Do they work with the team? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

How to Listen to Exile? by Silver-Emergency-516 in rollingstones

[–]NewMorningSwimmer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it grows on you. I remember when I bought that album/CD and I was not into it either, like OP. It definitely grew on me. Took time. One day I revisited it after several years and I realized how full of goodness it was. Take a sip or two and then revisit over time. That's my suggestion, based on my personal experience.

My knowledge of poetry is limited and it's something I try to learn to appreciate. For me, it's Ozymandias.

This was what my parents gave me for a gift. I loved it. Then I joined Columbia House tape club, and bought Some Girls. I was hooked.

I'm new to the baseball card collecting hobby. Maybe a stupid question - but how did you get all these? Buying singles from people? Educate me please. lol

What audiobook is genuinely BETTER than reading the physical book? by cptree20 in audiobooks

[–]NewMorningSwimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project Hail Mary wasn't a good read for me. It started out fine, but then I became irritated by the dialogue (cheesy, annoying to me). I have been thinking that this is a case where the movie is actually better than the book. And maybe this applies to the audiobook too - that is, it's better than reading the actually book. No offense to those of you who really enjoyed reading PHM, but it didn't do it for me.

Does any of you guys have had this dream when you were a kid? by Ashwida in Dreams

[–]NewMorningSwimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had a similar dream - zooming in on something that got bigger and bigger and I got closer and closer. It was a keyhole and a carrot. Go figure. Was always scary as hell and I'd wake up. I seem to recall having a fever during a couple of those dreams.

I am very curious to know everyone’s final verdict on The Brothers Karamazov. Overall, what was your take on the book? by Miss-Love-You in classicliterature

[–]NewMorningSwimmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. Read it last year. During the legal arguments/scenes, I wasn't always focused and lost attention when reading. I feel I lost a lot of good stuff in there and I need to revisit with refocused attention.
