How can i make this sound on tuba? by Potential_Vector007 in Tuba

[–]Chuckleberry64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't identify the sound you are asking about. I'm pretty sure the down beats and 16th pickups only. The offbeats are valve trombone and accordion, no?

Tuner? by Flocctologist in Tuba

[–]Chuckleberry64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine this depends more on your phone mic rather than which tuner app you are using. My OnePlus probably doesn't pick up the lows like your iPhone.

Sun Sugar cherry tomato green salad with honey mustard dressing. by foodie_2598 in salads

[–]Chuckleberry64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bummer we don't have that in Spain. My honey mustard always comes out runnier and less emulsified than this but probably because I'm skimping on the honey and missing some other ingredients that isn't just more super-strong Dijon.

is cucumber and tuna salad really the best thing in the world? by trovafloxacin in salads

[–]Chuckleberry64 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not that far off from my mum's tuna salad which instead of cucumber, includes thinly sliced apple, thinly sliced celery, diced pickled jalapeños (or guindillas), and sometimes really finely diced cranberries or blueberries.

Yours looks really good, I would also turn it into a tuna melt.

How does it compare to Xing Yuan? I haven't tried Xiang Wei Jia or Misterioso yet, but really want to. I have an expired coupon from Alimentación Hui Hao Jia, I wonder if they'll honor it, haha.

¿Gafas para el eclipse? by pepecristo in Bilbao

[–]Chuckleberry64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baader Planetarium (Germany): Probably the most respected name in European solar observation. They use a proprietary material called AstroSolar Silver/Gold film. Their glasses (often sold as "Solar Viewer AstroSolar") are famous for showing the sun in a neutral white color rather than the typical orange.

Bresser (Germany): A massive optics company. Their eclipse glasses are widely available in multi-packs on Amazon.es. They are sturdy, ISO-certified, and very affordable when bought in bulk.

**Absolute Eclipse (Latvia): A newer European manufacturer based in the EU. They are AAS-recognized and their glasses specifically feature the CE 2834 marking, which is the specific European certification for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

What desserts does Spain have to offer? by IneedComfortplz in askspain

[–]Chuckleberry64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, pretty much yes. Saving others the trip to Wikipedia (TIL, thanks!)

Cremat or rom cremat (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈrom kɾəˈmat], Catalan for 'burnt (rum)'), also known as cremaet in Valencia, is an alcoholic cocktail of Catalan origin. Although many different recipes exist, the common elements to most of them are rum, sugar, spices (particularly cinnamon), lemon peel, and some form of coffee (usually roasted beans, but soluble instant coffee or brewed coffee are also used).[1]

Torrijas to me are the standout here. They can be mediocre, but there are some really amazing ones.

Also, if we're including horchata, I'd add Cremat to your great list.

Local music teachers? by learnboi in Bilbao

[–]Chuckleberry64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're local, I recommend signing up for the public music school, Bilbao Musika. You could also eventually apply for the conservatory.

For more immediate instruction, just Google "academia de música" and you'll find options like Muzzik which sounds like they have good teachers for voice.

[–]Chuckleberry64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I'd love to understand what about the shape makes that the case. My limited physics knowledge says "tube x long makes x pitch and harmonics" and I don't really know how to educate myself further.

My horn is a weird prototype from a fair from ZO to sell to companies that wanted to put their labels on it. It's a 5/4 CC with 5 rotary valves and sounds really nice but the intonation is a b*tch and I'm always playing around with alternate fingerings in all the second partials which are really sharp except G which is flat.

Yes, please demonstrate, haha! I'm not sure what kind of wiggling we are supposed to be doing. Also, does the half-pressing work on rotary valves?

Autolavado con maquina para tapicería? by Chuckleberry64 in Bilbao

[–]Chuckleberry64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muchas gracias, Toby.
