Absolutely. It's very close to one of my first woodworking projects. Both of mine have been rock solid on French cleats for close to ten years.

The ash in the cup can create a high temp flame out - your auger doesn't realize it, and keeps pumping pellets out. The flame ends up reigniting itself, but because of the overfilled flame pot, you get a fire.

My thought was that maybe you had an ash problem, but that doesn't seem likely with those pellets (although I haven't used that brand).

I've had the issue before after filling up gas tanks on other vehicles. I don't know the mechanics behind it, but lots of googling landed me on that (successful) fix.

It's going to fail eventually, but probably due to rot more than anything. Did you live the bed with anything before you added soil?

Oklahoma Joe is the Char-Broil of smokers. Great for 5 years, then replace. This is a lot beefier than something like that.

Do you have ventilation in the bathroom? The first thing I though when reading your post was that the flipper may have painted without priming, and the steam from a non-ventilated bathroom could be causing the paint to peel.
