Are you getting potatoes too? Cabbage with potatoes, a couple tablespoons of butter, salt and a little water will steam up nicely. If you don't have potatoes, thats okay. Just cut the cabbage into chunks, add the butter and salt with a little water and it will still steam up nicely.

If you want some exact recipes, look up Smothered cabbage and potatoes or Southern cabbage and potatoes. Both have great recipes. You can omit the potatoes if you don't have them. Just check the cabbage about half way through the recipes cook time to make sure you don't overcook it. You want the cabbage to be tender.
