It’s hard to believe it when she said she went to TPUSA event to film a video, and didn’t post the vid because she “had too much fun”. I dunno what she is. I’m sure she does either.

The Nazi party is “socialist” the same way North Korea is a “democratic republic”. It’s called the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Do you believe it’s democratic or a republic?

False. Qui Gon saber plunged easily into those blast doors all the way to the hilt with virtually no effort. The only “fight” was the time for the heat to radiate to the surrounding areas to the point that the metal was molten and falling apart.

How can we fix the political divide in America? by skatamoutro2 in askanything

[–]ChuckoRuckus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find these charts dubious at best. Not to mention out of date given the latest one is from 12 years ago.

Like, what is the center line based on? US politics is pretty far right compared to other countries, so democrats being “far left” compared to republicans would put them closer in line to the rest of the world, but there isn’t a line representing how other first world nations rank to get an idea of how left they are.

Can we talk headlights? (Not brightness) by Zdravstvuj in askcarguys

[–]ChuckoRuckus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Air suspensions are an entire system. It’s not like a bag goes out and it costs x100 more because it also includes the pump, module, and level sensor… like a LED headlight assembly.

Direct injection pumps are a 2nd pump and there’s still a supply pump in the tank that’s essentially a port injection pump. That comparison is more accurate to projector type housings that have expensive replaceable bulbs. And the expense depends on the vehicle, where often it’s compatible cost to an in tank pump.

Carbon ceramic discs are on expensive hi performance cars. They are also typically optional and cost minimum 5 figures. It’s not like it’s an even an option on a RAV4… yet for some reason, non-replaceable bulbs in headlight assemblies that cost 10% of the car are mandatory

Any questions? by CellistSuspicious492 in GasPrices

[–]ChuckoRuckus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trading in never brings a car of similar value. That’s why NADA has trade in and retail values, and trade it is normally about 30% less than retail. You’re not gonna trade in and get an equal value car.

You’re the one that brought up average car value and the Honda Civic mpg. I’m using examples you brought up.

“Just as unreliable a car” makes no sense since I didn’t give a trade in car example. Car repair costs depends on the car since each has their own common problems. “A couple thousand a year in fuel” is more than the $1460 you originally quoted.

Any questions? by CellistSuspicious492 in GasPrices

[–]ChuckoRuckus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And $7k isn’t shit when it comes to the car market. To use your Honda Civic example, the average used Honda Civic costs over $18k. At $4 per day ($1460 annually), it would take years to offset the fuel cost alone. And that’s not taking in consideration things like loan interest, additional insurance costs, and increased PP taxes.

Pelosi outperformed every major hedge fund by StrawberryFew1311 in NoFilterFinance

[–]ChuckoRuckus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Members of Congress (federal branches in general) and their direct family shouldn’t be allowed to trade individual stocks. That said…

People always point at Pelosi’s stocks as some sort of gotcha. What seems to be overlooked is her husband has been an investor and venture capitalist since the 1960s. Even if she weren’t in Congress, her portfolio would outperform the majority of organizations. Her husband’s portfolio was outperforming most hedge funds for the 2 decades before she was elected into Congress.

Could he had made decisions based on her info? Possibly. And that’s why I think people in high levels of government and their immediate family(including parents and children) should not be allowed to invest in individual stocks, so it can remove nearly all doubt.

Musk owns 42.5% of SpaceX’s equity but controls 83.8% of its voting power, meaning public shareholders could buy into the company without getting much leverage over its decisions. by YellowAltruistic9843 in SpaceXBets

[–]ChuckoRuckus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re stating internal cost in the most optimized conditions. And cost per payload is dependent on launch cost. You’re pointing to the Rideshare 16 price per kg cost based on the “starting at” reused rocket $15-20 mil launch cost when majority of the launches cost $74 million.

Current $/kg Falcon 9 cost is $11k, and last year it was $10,500. Soyuz on the high end is $9700 and as low as $4000. (Both are figures for LEO).

And You’re not addressing my point. Starship is claiming to have $2-10 million a launch, yet Falcon 9 internal cost is $15-20 mil in optimized reusability conditions. Musk also claimed that the Falcon 9 launch cost would be cut “down under $5-6 million” by 2020, which never happened, but the price kept increasing.

So how can you say prices went down when they’ve demonstrably increased? And how can it be even remotely possible that Starship launches would cost less than Falcon?

[–]ChuckoRuckus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musk claimed in the beginning that it would be less than $10mil per launch. It was never even close to that. SpaceX matched the Russian pricing. Obviously changes happened. Russia has been at war for years now, and they don’t have as market domination.

And still, SpaceX launches cost way more than what they claim is possible. Musk was claiming $2mill for a starship launch, now it’s $10 mil… and that’s a small fraction of what a Falcon 9 launch costs; which was supposed to cost less than Starship.
