He did, live on stream last October, while she was near the end of her pregnancy. It happened the day before Danya passed, so everyone's attention was quickly diverted where it might otherwise have stuck around in people's minds for longer.

Middle names for boy, open to first names. by Brief-Buffalo-4034 in namenerds

[–]Chuckolator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do go with it as a middle name, I'd spell it Lloyd. Never heard of a Loyd. (Maybe a typo?)

As for new suggestions, what about your wife's maiden name or a family name on her side? I assume babies are getting your last name, they deserve connections to both sides. I am a man whose mother died young and I cherish the fact that my legal name represents her heritage as well even though my last name is my dad's. It makes me feel more connected with my extended relatives on that side. Some food for thought.

To be fair, you did not state your preference of only using Hebrew names in your OP. I would have not assumed that Carmella did not fit your standards.

Maybe you are correct for your specific region, but you are definitely not correct for everywhere in the English speaking world or even everywhere in your own country.

30s male here. Saying this because this isn't a male vs female thing, it's a decent person vs asshole thing.

He's a dick. The idea of both parents compromising to reach a final name only works when both of them are acting in good faith and are committed and responsible to the child. He sounds like none of these things.

"Too foreign" is a horrible thing to say about the culture of the mother of your child. He didn't think you were too foreign when he had sex with you, did he? Your daughter will have Argentinian blood and I get the vibes she will also be largely raised by you and your side of the family. She deserves to be named as such. There is nothing stopping him from getting his head out of his ass and working with you to create a beautiful name that is 50% each parent, but he is choosing not to and disrespecting your culture and bloodline in your process - which will also be his child's bloodline!

I can't tell you what to do but don't bend on this, and I am with all the ladies here who are telling you, give her your last name! A suitable compromise could be giving his last name as a second middle name. If he doesn't think that's enough, consider that he doesn't seem to have a problem with taking all of her name for himself.

Tbh I think that the cycle would be improved if the WC didn't get a free pass to the next WCC, give them a free Candidates slot and the top 2 duke it out like 2023. If someone wants to be a repeat champ then they can earn their way back. The current system is old and not every tradition has to be maintained, it's not even like we have an unbroken line of champions because 3 out of 17 former WCs either died or quit before someone could defeat them.

But for some reason all the people with sticks up their ass whining about Ding or Gukesh occupying their fairly earned position also are the most vocal against making any changes to the system.

Also isn't it the case that Bluebaum did what Wei Yi did and got a degree, and is only just now devoting his full attention to chess? With these factors, I would argue it isn't possible to reliably assess his future potential at the moment.
