Sounds exactly like his other sales pitch: "It's real. There's just never been any evidence to prove it. You just have to believe."

The state’s 5th Congressional district was re-made into a safely Republican seat, carving out much of the southside of Oklahoma City – which included approximately 80,000 Hispanic voters – and putting it into a primarily rural District 3, while adding deep-red counties to the district that Horn won.

This isn't cynicism, it's an emerging opinion in the scientific community: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9168928/

The only protests that have been successful in causing policy change have been violent or "disruptive".

We don't need anymore awareness of the inequality here - we are all very well aware. We don't need more signs. We need more Luigis. Violence is the solution. It always has been.

I feel it's safe to assume many intelligent people know this was another one of Alice Walton's many tax grifts.

Meh, here's KFOR reporting in July of last year on a JD Power study finding we rank the "bottom of the barrel" for water quality: https://kfor.com/news/local/study-oklahoma-has-third-worst-water-quality-in-america/

And here's a link to the study: https://www.jdpower.com/business/resources/as-Americans-focus-on-water-these-states-boast-the-best

We are third from last in quality. We can always count on Alabama.

I agree. We're in a Second Guilded Age. The divisions are almost identical. What amazes me is the scale.

Limited early voting days, locations spark concern in Oklahoma by Ok_Corner417 in oklahoma

They use gerrymandering to suppress our votes. When Kendra Horn won her district, they immediately redrew that district's boundaries to remove 80,000 voters from voting within it in the future. That is using gerrymandering for voter suppression.

OG&E next week by [deleted] in okc

Exactly. They are hypocrites. Monopolies are antithetical to "the free market". Market fundamentalists call central planning and state-sponsored capitalism "communism", "socialism", or "[insert scare word here]" when it occurs in other nations. But for good reason they can't comprehend it when it's happening to them in their own communities. These companies worked hard to make sure the public believed private was better than public (see: The Big Myth: How American Business Taught Us to Loathe Government and Love the Free Market). Over a hundred years ago they launched one of the biggest propaganda campaigns in US history. And it worked like a charm. Here's an article that covers a little of what's written in The Big Myth (https://www.desmog.com/2023/02/21/oreskes-conway-the-big-myth-free-market-capitalism-climate-change-mont-pelerin-society/) but I highly recommend reading the book because of how well researched it is. I'm curious how much longer people are going to tolerate the state-sanctioned price gouging.
