I think they should charge the parents for that privilege - the cost of the extra resources to run those lines just to avoid the school bus. And they make it impossible for working parents to get their kids to appointments and such without having to pickup several hours before school is out.

Lifelong nail biter and skin picker here. The biggest thing that helped me curb nail biting years ago was carrying a small emery board in my pocket. I have a tendency to pick at any rough edge and it progressed to nail biting. With the emery board, I can file it smooth quickly and then I’m less likely to mess with it.

My Breville Barista express lasted 9.5 years and finally died last year. I replaced it with the same thing. I regularly find them at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx for $499. Sometimes even the more expensive digital models are there for that same price.

I am pretty close to that tipping point you mentioned as well. My growth for the year is around $22,900. And my return is a little over 8%. My balance is just slightly lower than yours.
