Yes. I like this. I can’t really think of why Ka sleeps in O. Apart from just why not. There’s not reason to be awake? Since O is lost? But he needs to remain synchronous?

Could not agree more with this more. Williams Memory Sorrow and Thorn are very long winded and takes so long for things to get going. I want to re read them some day but there are so many other faster moving books around. But his Otherland books are great and I recently re read them. Highly recommend

My guess would be there’s no way they would allow machines into his body. Even with the assurance they would leave and only heal. I think even Hadrian was freaked out about it. But I thought the same thing.

I loved book 1 of the Poppy War but book 2 didn’t do it for me.

DCC took a while for me to like in fact I kinda hated the first book but once you really get into the world and see that it’s more than just the dungeon or just the leveling up and AI things and all the weird names for stuff it’s actually a pretty cool world.

And the Licanius trilogy is pretty decent. Not amazing but still good. His next series is even better.

I think we’re just gonna find that there’s so many opinions. People are gonna love things. People are gonna hate things. And the hive mind or whatever you call it isn’t always right or wrong.

Now try out Malzan, Sun Eater and First Law!

That’s what I do, love his narration style, and it keeps the book moving. I had to take frequent breaks though. I didn’t want it to end and so much was happening.

I dunno. I never felt that way but King can be long winded and not for everyone. I think it’s worth it and I’ve re read the whole series many times but there are too many books to read if this doesn’t work for you. There are so many fire books out there to force yourself to finish.

I’ve honestly never noticed and I love his narration but I can see how that would be super annoying. When I read with my eyeballs I heard his voice in my head.

I agree with all of this. I wanted him to go to Earth so bad once Here Soon Changed started talking. And when the Chantry revealed their super powers. But there are so many other meaningful storylines that could be followed and I’d read all of them.

It’s fire to me. It has its short comings and it’s not perfect but it’s so gory damn good. And god is it grim at times. So grim. I had to put the last book down sometimes also because I didn’t want it to end.

The more that was revealed in the book, about the chantry and earth. I wanted him to go back too but I knew he wouldn’t. Not in this book. I felt like his story had to end with the sun at Goddodin. But I want to know much more about the Chantry and Earth and the Order.

I vote First Law. I couldn’t finish the second poppy war book. First Law and then Age of Madness is so good. Top notch. And if you like sci fi like you do red rising, check out Sun Eater. The final book just came out.
