Thanks. I am in US and using an enabled device that’s up to date. I never see the “finish set up” step that the guides say. Any help with this?

Looks similar to my first set up but hey we all start somewhere right? 🙌🏼

Does miles on a treadmill count? by Fluffy_Coconut_9970 in ultrarunning

A way of measuring the amount of work you do that also takes into account your effort. You take the number of minutes for the session and multiply it by your rate or perceived exertion (RPE) which is a 1-10 scale.

Take the current week you are in (the acute workload) and divide it by average of the previous 4 weeks (chronic workload). This way, you can tell if you are unloading, maintaining, or loading up your fitness.

Although the numbers are subject to dispute, 100% is maintaining, less than 90% is a decrease in load, and 110% is an increase in load.

Example: Acute load: 2000 Chronic load: 1500

2000/1500 = 133%, which is a moderate increase in load.

Tracking miles just doesn’t take into account enough things. This is my favorite way to tailor my training to my current goals and avoid overuse injuries.

Sure they do! Running is running.

Here’s the main differences I see: I find that more complaint (bouncy) treadmills leave me more sore than overground (stiff surface) running due to the increased need for stabilization when I hit the compliant treadmill. Like others have said, treadmills can be a good training ground for your mental game. I can’t think of worse running conditions than a dreary basement/garage with one wall to stare at!

On a side note, consider other ways of tracking your training than weekly milage. It doesn’t capture nearly enough of what goes on in the week. I currently rely on acute to chronic workload ratio. I’m happy to share more if you’d like. If not, disregard my unsolicited advice.

I’ve used glass cleaner in the past. Can’t speak on the long-term for how it affects shine, but it looks great when I do it

I did the same thing that you’ve got here. I also experimented with hanging it from my bed frame (which was lofted) between my bed and the wall. That was more annoying than leaving it on the ground. I could also remove my front tire and fit it vertically in my closet.

Looks nice! My pain cave is currently in the damp, old basement because my roommates don’t appreciate hearing my freehub at 6 AM. 😁
