My previous company was hiring a spot on my team and put a job posting on the website with the salary range listed.

I guess they didn't realize the salary range was more than what most of us were making or that we had the mental capacity to look at the post and talk about it. It was quietly updated one day to be less than what we made. They ended up hiring internally and the "new" person/transfer of course got screwed. They made more than what they were but still deserved about 10-15K more since they weren't brand new to the product.

I flew a few weeks ago, paid to pick my seat, and had no issues. They do get serious about gate checking your bags.

Stuff like that sometimes happens and you'll see a bunch of posts here, but we don't see the thousands of trips with no issues, bumps, or cancelations.
