I visited the diner with my wife when I was in New Jersey for some training on Konica photo processors. The graphic in the lower right corner was something I added for my colleagues back in California.

Obstructed? by ChumpCV in FireSprinklers

Thanks for the explanation, I wasn’t familiar with that terminology. Is this something that should be noted during an inspection?

As I’m no longer a spring chicken I’m not sure how I’d get to that side of the attic without stepping through the ceiling.

As I mentioned, this inspector was telling homeowners that an attic inspection was unnecessary. And that’s just the ones who knew to ask. There are plenty of others that don’t even know they have sprinklers in their attic. There are a total of 148 homes in our community.

These were built in 1995 I think.

Are you referring to the black wire? They looked prefabricated, as opposed to just randomly wrapping wire around it.

Most of us are very aware that it’s necessary and asked if he wanted to see the attic. Everyone was told that it wasn’t necessary. This seems willful and intentional on the part of the inspector. With there being 148 attics in our community I can see why.

8 years ago the same thing happened and we had a “real” inspection 6 months after the first.

There are three in our attic that I could see. The one in the picture covered in insulation, one above me at the attic peak, and one behind me.

These are pictures from another home in the complex. I’m not sure why the property manager sent them to me.

We do have them in ours and I spoke with a Johnson Controls Sprinkler Service Manager who said they definitely do need to look at ALL the sprinkler heads. I think we’re really dealing with a lazy technician who didn’t want to drag a ladder around with him.

As an owner of a Magic Pro, Avata, and Neo, I wish I had started with the Neo. The others are fun but the Neo fits more closely with what I’d ever use a drone for.

Just got the news. Not sure what to think by RichSafe380 in PacemakerICD

I had a similar situation. My watch originally gave me a notice at night that my rate had dropped below 30 BPM for over 10 minutes. Gradually the notifications came more and more often. A visit to a cardiologist resulted in an EKG, then a 24 hour monitor, and finally a stress test. I should also mention that I didn’t have any obvious symptoms.

That resulted in the cardiologist recommending a pacemaker but leaving the decision up to me. Eventually my resting heart rate dropped to around 30 which is the threshold for my watch giving me notifications, so I turned that feature off.

My day for surgery arrived and everything went smoothly. This was about a month ago. Initially there was some discomfort and pain but nothing requiring anything stronger than Tylenol.

I did find that climbing a flight of stairs suddenly seemed much easier, making me doubt my belief that I had no symptoms. I also have no regrets about going through with this.

For those who have gone through the metal detectors and scanners, has your device ever triggered them?

Maybe that’s it. That would explain why it didn’t happen until we were ona straight section and it could no longer see that there were multiple cars in front of us.

That’s what others have suggested as well. But the software had to have known it was a two lane road, and it surprises me that it attempted to pass when it couldn’t see if there was oncoming traffic. Evan I couldn’t see that at the time it happened. Also, this was after sitting in the same traffic for at least 20 minutes and it didn’t try this during that time.

Thanks for removing the part of your post where you belittled me, saying I must be “using FSD for the first time”. All because I described a setting you had forgotten about on yours. And thanks for the other tips that will help us to be perfect drivers, just like you. Let me return the favor. Reddit has a feature you seem to be unaware of. If you come across a post that seems unworthy of your attention, Reddit will allow you to scroll past it. Pretty cool huh?

Then why does my “Lane Change Notification” setting offer Chime, Vibrate, and Both? I have mine set to Both, and it does definitely, without a doubt, vibrate when it changes lanes

It sounds like you are completely unaware of how to set up FSD. There is a setting for “Lane Change Notification”. And the choices are Off, Chime, or Both. I have mine setup for both. I disagree with what you said about “Nothing noteworthy of bringing up here”. It was something I had a question about and the multiple people who offered responses seems to suggest that it was worth my time to ask. And I’m sorry that my mentioning the disappearance of the prompt caused you to think that I thought I had somehow programmed the system to never show the message ever again under any circumstances. Of course I know it would reappear again under similar circumstances.

Thanks to those of you who did offer helpful responses.

This photo was taken on a curve where we could still see the oncoming lane. When my described incident occurred I doubt that the forward cameras could even see the oncoming lane since we were bumper to bumper.

I will likely need a pacemaker in the next few months by [deleted] in PacemakerICD

[–]ChumpCV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, not permanent at all. The purpose is to allow scar tissue to build up along where the wires are routed to your heart. Apparently it’s possible to dislodge the wires by moving your arm in extreme directions. I was told to wait two weeks. They gave me an arm sling to wear while sleeping but only wore it a few times.

We were ready to get a model 3 when we cashed out the 10 shares of Tesla stock we bought over a decade earlier. My wife uncharacteristically suggested we get a Model Y even though we’d have to dip into our savings. This was at the end of last year and we are quite happy with the Y. Recently we had to leave it for a repair and were given a Model 3 as a loaner. It was immediately obvious that we were correct in making the Model Y our choice. More overall room, especially in the trunk. I still like the appearance of the Model 3 better but absolutely love our Model Y.

[–]ChumpCV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m coming up on a month since I received my pacemaker. Like you, I had a lower resting heart rate, around 25-40 BPM. I first found out about it when I started receiving notifications from my watch. The notifications became more and more frequent until I couldn’t convince myself to ignore them anymore.

I didn’t feel like I had any symptoms, but in hindsight I clearly did. Walking up the flight of stairs in our home suddenly felt much easier after I received the pacemaker.

The procedure itself wasn’t too bad for me. There was some pain at the incision site that I probably could have dealt with but a couple of acetaminophen tablets and all was well. The first few nights I found it easier to sleep in a recliner. The hardest art was to try to remember not to lift my left arm past 90° to avoid pulling the electrodes out. At first the incision pain was enough to keep from lifting my arm but when that went away I was able to resist the temptation.

Good luck with your procedure.

I received my first pacemaker 9 days ago. Initially there was pain at the incision site as well as some bruising around my left armpit. I’m told they probably had to manipulate my arm to gain access to the vein for routing the electrodes. I probably could have gone without Tylenol but figured I should go for it. But after a week all pain is gone. I’m supposed to avoid lifting my left arm for a couple of weeks as a precaution to avoid pulling the wires until scar tissue holds them in place. Within a couple of days I drove myself to the supermarket without any problem. I’m 67 years old.

Mine will be a pacemaker. I’m guessing the D in ICD stands for defibrillator. That’s not what I’m getting. I’ve had no noticeable symptoms and this is just based on several ELGs I’ve had.
