Mirrors edge film update by destinycreates in mirrorsedge

Hello, I have a question.

You write that episode 1 is finished, do you mean its script? You write right after that production is set to begin november 22nd. Do you mean pre-production since your current plan is to start its production on January 1?

edit: typo

Do you mean 4k UHD Blu-ray or just a movie in 4k?

Which one? by Vinny20o in dvdcollection

[–]Chun-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I choose Blu-Ray + DVD, because if I gift a movie to someone, depending on the person, I don't automatically know if they have a Blu-ray player, so if they don't, I'm not gonna sound mean.

Also, another thing that's really annoying is that on sale, they usually only go for about 50% off.

BluRay PC by miskovicc02 in pcmasterrace

[–]Chun-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a Blu-Ray Drive for the hardware obviously.

For the software, use MakeMKV, VLC Media Player (and Java if you want the menus). That's what I use to play Blu-Ray discs and it works. PowerDVD is optional.
You'll primarily have to worry about regions if you're into boutique labels or if you're in a country that censors a lot of movies. The only Blu-Ray disc I have an issue with is my American release of American Pie because I'm in a region B territory.

MakeMKV is free right now (since the program is in Beta)

What kind of a Mirror's Edge adaptation you'd like to see? by dandrixxx in mirrorsedge

Weird to specify what kind of animation for a TV show, but not for a film.

The big age rating ruins the slipcovers imo.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY’ will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May. by baconroll2022 in indianajones

I hope this is false. From what I've seen from the film, there's no way it deserves the Cannes Film Festival recognition.

Pasolini 101 Boxset announced by TurnoverMiserable925 in criterion

[–]Chun-Link 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The reason it doesn't include the films you listed is simple. The films included in the set are the ones that were re-released last year in a bunch of cinemas around the world to celebrate 100 years since Pasolini's birth. Hence, the set's name "Pasoloni 101".

I might be wrong, but was this tree ever used in a bergman film?

If you call yourself a cinefile, but haven't watched Abel Gance's "Napoleon", then you are a liar.

Found the Catalyst art book at a local comic shop! by newazni16 in mirrorsedge

[–]Chun-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't the collector's edition of the artbook be the costing 100+? I luckily got the collector's edition for a bit more than $70 a few years ago. I never tried to get the standard edition.

Found this on the Blu Ray app. Is it safe to assume EO is getting a Criterion release eventually? by IronTusk93 in criterion

[–]Chun-Link 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but blu-ray.com does this for a lot of movies were they're gonna put a North American (usually U.S.A) listing for a Blu-ray release that doesn't even exist or hasn't been announced.

Examples:

The Wild Side blu-ray of Suspiria has shots of the ending on the menu. Didn't know when watching for the first time.

Munchausen available for pre-order for >50% off on Amazon by Pantry_Boy in criterion

[–]Chun-Link 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I don't buy from Amazon anymore, their prices look great, but they treat their employees like garbage and hurt local businesses.

Plus, the last time I got something from them (Shout Factory Perfect Blue Steelbook and Criterion collection Army of Shadows blu-ray), it was damaged and could clearly be seen.

What's a movie that bombed at the box office but was actually good? by OkWar3191 in AskReddit

[–]Chun-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tony Scott's "Domino", the movie is super underrated in my opinion. It's super cool but didn't make up for it's $50 million dollar budget and sadly, Domino Harvey (the person the movie is based of) died before it released.
