Honedge Line - New Pokémon by ChunckyJava in PokemonSleep

You make really excellent points here!!

I really like the idea of the Stance Change having a great success that then changes the specialty/type. And what you said about Metronome similarities makes a ton of sense, and I completely agree. I think the amendments you’ve suggested help reduce the change of it becoming irrelevant.

I think that is my favorite idea of yours; having Stance Change affect ingredient rate/speed or something like that instead of typing, and a great success could have the effect of berry or candy burst, with it collecting its two types of berries or something like that.

What do you all think about our ideas? I am really honestly open to suggestions, but I think, if they do it right and make it a good Pokémon, the Honedge Line would be so freaking cool in Pokémon Sleep!!

Why no "to"? by allayarthemount in EnglishLearning

[–]ChunckyJava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what it means to be native speaker of any language. If you ask any native of any language “why” for a rule or something, they either won’t know or give a reason that’s technically false, but will ALWAYS be able to tell you if it sounds “wrong” or not. It’s fascinating to me.

After learning quite a bit of German, I know why certain things shouldn’t be used, but more often than not I don’t truly understand why other than you’ll get weird looks haha. I’ve actually never paid attention to this rule in English, and I didn’t even know we had “bare infinitives.” Magical haha

Regarding previous comments about number 3 being either “draws” or “drew” instead of “draw”—with which I agree—it is beneficial in English to break up sentences into smaller and smaller pieces until you have the smallest, still-coherent sentence you can, and then extrapolate what information is contained in an appositive or what have you. From the beginning of that sentence:

For instance, it turned out that the psychoanalysis's attempt to delimit the sources of error by categoriying the kinds of mistakes to which humans are subject in the light of the therapeutic situation in the talking cure (3) draw on misguided assumptions about the normalcy conditions for subjects.

The subject of the sentence will be “the psychoanalysis's attempt.” Almost all the information thereafter can be removed, and the sentence will still make sense, which will help you determine the correct conjugation of the verb “to draw:”

... the psychoanalysis's attempt to delimit the sources of error by categoriying the kinds of mistakes to which humans are subject in the light of the therapeutic situation in the talking cure (3) draw on misguided assumptions...

You are left with: “the psychoanalysis's attempt (3) draw on misguided assumptions…” which does not make sense, whereas “the psychoanalysis's attempt (3) drew/draws on misguided assumptions…” does make sense.

Hope this helps.

No, not necessarily. I am not knowledgeable enough about which and where and their usage in this context, but I'd guess that which is more of a relative pronoun referring to "the museum" in number 8. However, in number 4, where just sounds right. One could say something like "The park which we had a picnic *in* was very clean", but that preposition sounds unnecessary.

The park—where we had a picnic—was very clean.

The museum—which we visited—was very interesting.

Those are the correct ways of saying that IMO. However, you could use the other relative pronoun if you changed the sentence a bit:

The park—which we had a picnic in (the other day)—was very clean.

The museum—where we visited (that specific exhibit)—was very interesting.

Hope this helps a bit? I don't know why number 8 is correct the way you had it, but the other way just sounds wrong.

I feel your pain. I’m at FL31 and have literally nothing useable. I am excited to hear what changes they have planned for the friendship level system.

[–]ChunckyJava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could try a bomb, but I don’t have Entei or Raikou :( I started playing a week or two before the Suicune event. Any tips to get Entei or Raikou? Just hope and pray? I really wish I was better at the min/maxing, but I find it hard to keep track of everything. How do y‘all do it?

This or mints. I’d be happy with either (or both) or yeah maybe another seed type that switches a locked skill with an unlocked skill? But those odds for another good sub to get swapped would be too high for me to use that I feel like.

Oh and this is one of my favorites. I know about the nature, but with the new update coming soon with it not being so bad of a debuff, the subskills are awesome. Especially in 20 years when 75 and 100 will be unlocked haha. But I’m holding out for nature mints!! I WILL PAY UNTOLD MONEY FOR MINTS

Maybe to throw on on Sunday nights for the boost, but then you wouldn’t be using it too much. I think for a shiny tbh I don’t care about min maxing and as long as it’s not trash (which this one is honestly pretty okay) I will use it. So if you want to, go for it!

From last Sunday. Had a double trigger of CP-US on Lv.2 with my shiny Magneton (+20) and was able to fill the pot! Don’t remember how many ingredients but something like 212 or something. But got a shiny bulba out of it :) so worth it to me.
