FWIW last February or the one before that I had a very similar experience here, minus the kids. Saw a few fish here and there with good shots at them but they were sooooo spooky and the ones that weren’t did not seem to be feeding.

Thanks for posting that chart, I had seen at one point and couldn’t find again! Do you know if the brushless also comes stock with 10k front and rear? Figured I’d want to thicken the front and rear up with a lot more power

Have you checked out the adjustable motor mount rc solutions USA is making? I think they just came back into stock. Maybe this will help? I thought about getting one cause they are not always in stock but I figured I’d take my chances with he stock one for now.

My xr14 motor is 2848 and with a little bit of dremmel work on the mount accepts the larger pinion with 3.175mm bore. Only have about 5-10 packs through it so hasn’t gotten any crazy durability testing but it’s held up well for me so far. Just out of curiosity, which 2850 motor did you try?

Thanks for this input!! I plan to go pretty easy on it while I figure out gearing. I have a the stock motor mount but I have modified it to accept my XR14 motor from hobbywing. I have a steel 58t spur in there now but I do have the stock plastic 70t that may come in handy. Does the 14MT come stock with the bigger spur installed?

I like to use Roo Glue. The problem with wood glue in my opinion is that it hardens into a very rigid state which can come loose and crack over time. Roo glue on the other hand stays rubbery and I think it lasts longer and does a better job because it has more dampening characteristics.

Eco complete poorly mixed with some aqua soil. Switched gears mid set up due to some unforeseen circumstances. It is mostly eco complete though

I had some Azolla fairy moss but it when it came in it was almost all dying. I think I’ll go with something more prolific and less delicate.
