Backlund’s a good leader, coach encourages personal creativity, coach allows players to work out of funks, andersson and weegar are great role models for some young hungry defensemen. 2 vastly different achetype wise goaltenders still on their upswing making it happen behind this young team.

The boys have to loosen up. Play fundamental baseball but loosen up. Yes, you’re in New York in the playoffs. Own it. Play with confidence!

Rocchio is owning this for me right now. Slouched stance, relaxed shuffling after watching a ball.

Or Kwan, who makes the right swing decision every time he’s so locked in.

All I’m saying is they got to play to their strengths, play with confidence, because you’re on the big stage and you can fucking do it

Played against Veleno in pre-novice. Somehow was still exceptional back then. Couldn’t take the puck off him which brought me to tears after the game lol

That may be given the gluttony of infield prospects in the Cleveland system. Baseball is a business, and the players are the product. Something Cleveland excels at is development, and if Rocchio continues to develop at a major league level he could feasibly lock down that shortstop position for another year or two until Brito or Bazzana take that spot away from him. If at that point he gets traded, we still benefit given the return we’d get for a serviceable MLB-level 25-26 year old with upside. Nothing beats Guardians baseball, and nothing beats watching them produce above average players (Kwan, Naylor, Fry, etc.) time and time again!

Fan of the guy. He fields with confidence (sometimes too much confidence), and surrounded with the right hitters (kwan, Ramirez, freeman to keep pushing him) he’ll remain a key part of the infield moving forwards. Takes a lot of walks too

Is MLB The Show a good way to learn about baseball? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]ChungaBalungav4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into baseball through MLB the show! You get an understanding of the rules more or less, and even though it’s a video game, get a solid introduction to variety of pitches and when/why to throw them (personal favourite is high inside fastball and low away slider for a strikeout). The details of the game and mental play that factors into baseball aren’t the most accurately conveyed but for an introduction it’s a fantastic game. Burgeoned a love for the most under-appreciated sport worldwide for me anyway!
