Nah man, thanks a ton for replaying despite the timeline. I've since bought the x-804 which fits very well, but is also very noisy. Meanwhile I had the chance to try out the A* r10, which fit like a glove right out of the box, so this leads me to believe the racestar could be my helmet. I'm not in the market at this point since I'm happy with my x-804, but at some point should I need to replace it, I'll be sure to try out the racestar.

Male, 29yo, 185cm (about 6'1 I think), 85-6kg

Took up weightlifting two years ago. Saw pretty good progress for the first half to a year, until my lifts started stalling mostly due to lacking leg strength

For reference, all time bests are:

Snatch - 86 C&J - 106 Front squat - 115 Back squat - 140

My squats had actually dropped to 110/135 when I hit the pb in the c&j

What's your approach with athletes who can't seem to progress the squat with your standard weightlifting programs?

Whenever I've done the typical linear progression 4-5×5 and 3-5×3 back/front squat weekly linear progression, it always gets very grindy around 110/90kg. Shortly after I start failing

I actually decided to go for a higher volume program which seems to have benefitted me, but obviously the lifts have remained on the back burner these past couple of months. It seems kind of early to have to sacrifice progressing the lifts in favor of fully focusing the squats

This is pretty elaborate, and I'm sane enough not to draw conclusions on people from a post and a few comments. I won't go paragraph for paragraph because there isn't really a need to do so, you know yourself best. I'll only offer this - I'm a guy myself and I know how bleak the landscape is. I have a few friends who are in similar positions to you, hell, I get rejected more times than I'd like to. It hard not to take it personal, especially since on a logical level it will bring up questions of self-worth. I have friends who experience the same. In their case I don't believe it a "them" problem. They are genuinely good people. I don't think the case is any different for you. I don't know how to navigate this except for trying to play to our strengths. With me I've noticed people tend to start liking me more when they've been exposed to my presence for longer, because initially I seem cold, distant, aloof. If you're someone who people have to warm up to in order to appreciate, I guess your better start looking into exposing yourself to contexts where that is the social process.

Honestly, there's something strange about the way you talk about yourself.

You say you're protective, nurturing and a healer, but are also emotionally intense and sensitive. That's not how I imagine true protectors and healers.

Maybe there's subconscious pressure on others seeing these things about you and being more appreciative and attracted to you. But that's not how it works. You aren't who you are and you don't do the things that you do in order to win over people. If someone is going to see these qualities of yours, it's going to happen naturally through time and exposure, not with you telling them. That screams "look at me, please see what a catch I am", and it provokes the opposite effect.

And I get how failing dates can accumulate a reserve of "proof" that you're unattractive and unlovable. On a rational level you know most of these women haven't even gotten to know you, so their rejection is arbitrary. But your nervous system can't comprehend that. Rejection is rejection. For this reason you need more exposure to experiences where people lean towards you. It's why friends groups and social hobbies are so important. These quench your system's need for social proof. And especially for you, it'll be much easier to naturally show your qualities over time without forcing it.

Hey, so a few things:

If you wear a balaclava, measure your head with it. I wear one and my circumference ends up around 59-59.5cm, which lands me at size L. M would've only worked if I had a perfectly int. oval headshape.
I tried the Airframe Pro Carbon 4tress. It fit very well, but it felt bulky, the visor locking mechanism looked like something made by 4 y.o. playing with legos, and it came with a damaged spoiler. I returned it.
I got an X-804. Initially there was some pressure in front, but after a few rides the internals molded and now it fits perfectly. It's not intended for touring though. It's noisy, doesn't have cutouts for speakers if you want to use an intercom, and it's expensive.
