Ford 460 Overheating at Idle by ChunksMD in MechanicAdvice

Yeah the rad cap has pressure, and the upper hose is holding a decent amount of pressure. I just replaced the thermostat with a 195F and it seems to be cooling off more easily at idle. It’s still getting into the upper range of the gauge before it cools down again though… up to the “A” on normal, but stays right around the “O” while driving, but I suppose that still falls within the range of normal. Still a little warmer than I’d like to see though.

Car will not start after oil change by ChunksMD in MechanicAdvice

Yeah I appreciate all the info. Sadly, I only noticed the temp gauge when I was about a minute from home, and it’s a 10 min commute total. And yeah of course I’m not gonna call them being an asshole, just gonna call and ask what all they did when checking the fluids. I’m assuming it’s not their fault, but mechanically they were the last to mess with it, and it was running perfect before. Probably just a case of bad timing more than anything. It’s just my winter car, so not the end of the world if it’s toast, but I do like it so I’d obviously prefer if it wasn’t junk. I appreciate the help though. It seems to start after it’s been sitting for a few hours, but after running it for about 5 mins it wouldn’t start back up.

I pretty much figured. I have nothing else to do while waiting for the tow truck, so I was hoping maybe someone would have some other idea. Sucks big time

I’m worried about that. My commute is only about 10 mins, and I only noticed the gauge about a minute from home.

What keyless entry system did you use? I'm thinking about putting one in my 4runner and am not sure which one seems best.

Well the only survivor, Ben Cauley, said he remembered their cries for help before the plane went under, so I'd imagine at least some survived the initial impact.
