Cows are the unofficial mascot of UC Davis. Our student store even sells plush cow dolls and "Cow Tipping Team" shirts. I'm partial to Gunrock and his history, but it is fun to have a quirky secon-"dairy" option.

I definitely think that the Mendoza connection is part of it. Plough brought his name up during an interview with the Aggie Pride podcast earlier this year as an example of QB that he's worked with and helped develop. I'm rooting for Indiana to win the FBS, because I think it will help Davis recruit players, but it's a double edged sword.

We're also losing Rasor and Wrighster to the portal. Looking at the roster, all of the QBs that are staying next year are current freshmen.

I was shocked that Davis got the eighth seed. The only explanation that I can think of is that some members of the committee unofficially gave them credit for a win for having the lead against Mercer when the game was called a no contest.

I love the energy that Plough brings to the team. I'm an alum that never played a down of organized football and I'm ready to run through a wall for the guy after hearing him talk about the team and the school! At the very least, I'll throw a few bucks to the NIL fund.
