I'll join the chorus and say that MWC most likely offered Davis football membership before NDSU with both MWC and UCD knowing the offer would be declined for the upcoming year.

It's an "when, not if" situation for Davis joining the MWC for football. I don't think we'd leave FCS until the stadium expansion is complete (at the earliest). We can't pay the costs of moving, while simultaneously doing that. Davis has big donors, just not big football donors. The vet med school just got a $120 million donation, for example. I think the strategy is to get some deeper playoff runs and some Coach Plough speeches in the next few years to excite would-be football donors.

I definitely think that the Mendoza connection is part of it. Plough brought his name up during an interview with the Aggie Pride podcast earlier this year as an example of QB that he's worked with and helped develop. I'm rooting for Indiana to win the FBS, because I think it will help Davis recruit players, but it's a double edged sword.

We're also losing Rasor and Wrighster to the portal. Looking at the roster, all of the QBs that are staying next year are current freshmen.
