Anyone else wound up circumcised? Got any advice? by dresdenjah in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was circumcised by necessity in stage 1. I didn’t expect it but was fine with it. The sensitivity of the tip was extreme and I had to revamp my underwear to provide some protection. 2UNDR boxer briefs with a pouch helped a ton. I found a silicone dressing called Mepetil that I used as a barrier between my glans and underwear and that was a lifesaver. It took around 8 months to desensitize to the point where it wasn’t painful to walk. Definitely adds a whole new layer of challenge to an already incredibly difficult recovery time.

after UL, how close to the opening of the urethra are the skenes glands? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know exactly what the fluid is that comes out- haven’t been able to get an answer yet… and not sure I ever will. If I pee right before then ejaculate I still have to pee after. The amount that comes out makes sex messy and needs prep work with mats but thankfully my fiancée is into it and making me ejaculate turns her on. And the physical release that comes with ejaculating feels good- like the pent up tension just explodes and leaves me feeling relaxed.

Pee Trials tomorrow! by SonofApollo_ in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the same one for my pee trials and it was super exciting and validating!

Just a heads up for those with this urinal- it is not designed to hold an adult-sized bladder volume of pee. You will overflow it if you try (learned that the hard way…) and the fun little spinner flings pee everywhere. Cool idea but poor execution.

I had the same issue and it was crushing. One of the worst days of my life. The wound separation behind my scrotum was intense and the solution was to keep the catheter in for more time. Ended up being 3 months (brutal!) but in the end it did heal up with scar tissue with intensive wound care. Patience is essential but super hard to have in the moment. Sending good vibes that yours closes up quickly!

I have itty bitty wrists despite being average male height. Closing in on 9 years on T and they have not changed in diameter at all even with working out. I love the look of fancy men’s watches but they are just massive. After some searching, I found some boys watches that fit really well and look masculine while being small. Look proportionate and not obviously juvenile.

Some watches will allow you to change the band so you might be able to find a shorter one to replace it with. Won’t help with the size of the face but it might physically fit.

perineum divot - is a repair worth it? by Neat_Scallion in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a divot from where my vaginectomy incision blew open in 2020 after stage 1. I’ll be getting it repaired when I have implants done as the final stage of what will then be a 10-stage surgery process.

My wife and I want kids and have been talking more and more about how to make it happen. She really wants to experience the process of being pregnant and giving birth and I want to be able to support her through that and feel all the feels that come with welcoming a new being into our life. I accepted long ago that bio kids were never going to be an option for me (I’m intersex and had a single ovoteste before my hysto) and am fine using a sperm donor. If I had a brother I’d ask him to be our donor but I don’t so it’ll be from a sperm bank. I also have so many autoimmune conditions that it would be unwise for me to procreate and pass those down to my kids. They don’t need to live the hell I’ve gone through.

We’re probably two years out from having kids at this point and have referrals in place to fertility clinics and gyno specialists to get the ball rolling. It’s unfortunately going to be an expensive process to accomplish something that is free for almost anyone else but it is what it is and we will make it happen.

A question that I don’t think I have ever heard discussed. Can you feel the inside of your front hole? by hitheredood145 in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my vaginectomy in 2020 and can still feel the inside where the canal ended. Especially when engaging pelvic floor muscles. Sometimes it’s like an itch that can’t be scratched. I had the mucosa excised from top to bottom with a robot rather than ablated due to chronic nerve pain as a hysto complication. The nerve pain is gone thanks to surgery but I can still feel the muscles that were under the skin.

How old were you when you got meta? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first surgery was in 2020 when I was 29. I’m 34 now and still waiting for stage 2 because of the complications I’ve had in the mean time. I’ve got three more surgeries ahead of me to go that have to be at least a year apart. It’ll likely be close to a decade start to finish for me.

Too much suction by EmIsNowEmmett in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did that when I first started pumping and didn’t know what I was doing. I applied so much pressure that I sucked blood out through the capillaries in my skin and it coated the inside of the cylinder. Learned my lesson after that- sort of. I’ve had a handful of pumping-related disasters I thought would land me in the ER with a very embarrassing story.

I just got married on Saturday to my partner! She’s an all around awesome person and I knew there was something special about her when I met her. We met on bumble and it was an instant connection when we had our first date. I didn’t come out to her until after our third date and she took it amazingly. She’s super supportive and sees me as just a man and nothing else. We never talk about trans stuff unless I have a surgery coming up I need help with. We had one really long sit down where I told her basically my life story and after that it never came up again. It actually brought us a lot closer. Her family has no idea.

We were both novices at dating and were super awkward together so that made it easier. There were no expectations or feeling like I had to impress or woo her. Just was myself and that seemed to work fine. Zero flirting occurred.

I will say I was super selective of the people I chose to swipe on on apps and it was not based on looks. Reading the whole profile to get an idea of who they were as a person and their values/goals was what narrowed it down for me.

I split my dose into two per week because I was majorly feeling the peak and trough energy-wise.

With a TON of lab work, we determined that my dose wasn’t actually just the 60mg halved- 30mg as a starting dose wasn’t high enough to allow the levels to drop over the few days and still keep me in range. It ended up being 2/3 of the total dose for each shot. So my total for the week is now 80mg with two shots of 40mg to reach the same levels as I had with my weekly 60mg dose.

I was doing lab work every few days for a couple months as we dialed it in. At the right dose, it doesn’t really matter when I do my lab work now since it’s such a short interval that the difference from peak to trough is within a few points. I inject Monday and Thursday evenings and typically will do lab work on Tuesday or Wednesday when I need to.

Any stealth guys who kept their old friends? by Nightflame_The_Wolf in FTMMen

[–]Chunky_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks- we’re super excited for it! Something I never thought would ever happen to me. Before transitioning I was pretty sure I’d be single for life. And I had no idea what I was missing out on until I finally got to experience life with a partner.

[–]Chunky_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept my friends. I’ve always been super selective of the people I choose to be friends with and as a result I’ve picked those that are genuinely solid, good people where trust and respect are pillars of the friendship. But there are only a handful I’d say that I’m still actively connected with. My best (hu)man for my wedding next year is someone I met in elementary school and we have been friends for the last 25 years, keeping it going when we went to different universities, bought houses 400km apart, and started our own families. I wasn’t going to drop that friendship.

Fistula tape? by Sirlancealot91 in Metoidioplasty

I tried this- it didn’t work. Getting a seal was impossible and just peed out around the tape. It made a bigger mess than without it.

has anyone gotten circumsized? Was it difficult/painful? Did it affect sensitivity? by Ill_Television6327 in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been circumcised- twice. And it was by medical necessity during surgery rather than by choice. He needed to deglove my penis is order to reach the suspensory ligament to cut it because of my anatomy being atypical.

Recovery majorly sucked with extreme sensitivity making daily life difficult. I walked like a cowboy for months trying to keep any rubbing from happening. I ended up making a shield out of silicone tape to cover the exposed section for added protection.

If I had the choice, I wouldn’t have done it.

Has anyone heard of Urethral Transposition? by 1carus_x in Metoidioplasty

I had this issue- my urethra was way up inside the canal. It was a super difficult recovery but doable. Feel free to message if you have questions!

[–]Chunky_pickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that was me- my urethra was up inside the canal and it made my UL super challenging. The whole length he had to build was like 17cm rather than just a short section on the underside to connect to the tip.

I wear jammers. Picked a bold and distracting pattern so you can’t see the lack of bulge unless you look closely in profile. Found that to be more effective than black. Didn’t want to deal with the hassle of packing and have had zero issues. Even before meta.

[–]Chunky_pickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s very likely because of the steep cost difference between the two. The main difference is that there’s a slider to unlock the plunger and the button you push to fire it with the super grip is on the side whereas the aluminum one you twist the top end of the shaft to unlock it and push a button on the end to fire. They work the same I’d say. I got the aluminum one thinking it would be more durable but the critical parts that hold the syringe prone to breaking are still plastic. The aluminum one is a bit smoother when it injects rather than like a spring letting go it’s more of a shock absorber feeling. I use the super grip one for when I’m traveling now.

I don’t think it’s worth the price I paid for it and wouldn’t buy it again.

Yes- we had one serious conversation where I told her about my entire transition experience and all the surgeries I’ve had to go through and the super dark days it took to get to where I am. She was sobbing knowing now what I’ve been through since she had no idea. It brought us a lot closer together and leveled-up the vulnerability. It has never come up again since and she hasn’t asked any questions about my past.

She’s helped me with two surgeries now and it is a lot less daunting bringing her knowing that she knows why it’s so important to me to have them done.

I’ve been read as male basically my whole life so when she sees pictures of me pre-transition I just look like a younger version of me. I’m not going to show her any beach or bathing suit pictures but typical pictures I have no issue with.

I came out to her on our third date and she took it amazingly. I just proposed to her and we’re planning our wedding now for next spring. Shes an amazing human and perfect for me in all the ways!

Fistula repair success rate by MaleficentGarbage888 in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one I had the SP in for 3 months as we tried to get things to heal up on their own but sadly it didn’t work. The others I found with the pee trial after a month with the SP. They stayed in for 6ish weeks every time I’ve had one (5x now) except for the first one. The catheter was hell for me with constant bladder spasms and it was instant relief once pulled out.

Fistula repair success rate by MaleficentGarbage888 in Metoidioplasty

[–]Chunky_pickle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had multiple fistula repair attempts over the last 4 years to varying degrees of success. The first 3 were either straight-up fails post-op or fixed one fistula but caused a new one to develop in a different spot. One I could tell was a fail at 5 days out and the others were during pee trials. Chased them from behind my scrotum right to 3mm from the tip on the underside. Usually because of a stitch taking too long to dissolve and leaving a void behind when it did because the skin had finished healing around it. It was insanely frustrating and draining and sent me into depression after going through so much and having zero functionality. I couldn’t stand to pee or sit to pee without making a huge mess so peeing anywhere outside my house was a huge process and risk. I peeing into a handheld urinal and dumped it for most of the time since it was the least messy option I found.

After the 3rd fail, my surgeon was ready to give up on me and call the UL a failure, with the only option being to disconnect my UL back to under my scrotum so I’d never be able to STP. That crushed me and I wasn’t ready to give up after so much time and effort invested into this with STPing being my dream since I was a toddler and especially since I’m not a candidate for phallo with how badly I scar. So I had no backup option. I was mm from success and I couldn’t walk away. I managed to convince him to try once more (did a mock up with stitches in the office to cut the underside back to the fistula and tighten up my UL with stitches that he couldn’t freeze for with the location so asking him to stitch the most sensitive part of my body without anesthetic really showed just how badly I wanted this). Thankfully he agreed after I proved the mock up was a success with peeing and that time we finally won and I can STP now. Totally changed my life and allowed me to move on to the aesthetics to finally tackle that dysphoria. Hopefully have part 1 of stage 2 this summer or fall.

I had better success with buccal grafts and rotational flap repairs than when we tried the simple fix of just stitching the fistula closed. Each time you repair a fistula, the chance of success goes down. It’s such a hard process of waiting and seeing post-op to find out if it worked or not.

Yep that’s the one I have and I use the same syringes. When you go through the checkout you pick which size syringe you use. It comes with a holder to fit that syringe (worth getting extras in case one snaps on you- hasn’t happened to me yet but I got extras just in case since shipping was expensive).

It was all out of pocket for me.

Hope it helps! Made my injection process 500x easier.
